I went to the Dick smith store in Bourke St, Melbourne- There are signs everywhere that the 10% off Macs are only available TODAY! So better check the store first because not all stores have the sale until 13 April.

never a bargain. go to JBHiFi and buy a PC for $600 and get everything you ever need.
If someone wants an Apple product as it fits there needs, I would classify this as a bargain as Apple products are rarely discounted, rather bundled with out items to increase the value of a package.
I have a PC (named big bertha) and an Apple Macbook so it's not like I have a bias towards either :)
Go take a look at any other quality built computer, ie the Dell Adamo, are you'll see Apple's are about on par or cheaper than the competition. Plus you have the added benefit of a better OS, without the worries of viruses and spyware.
You get what you pay for.
Agree about the Dell Adamo (I believe that it’s actually more expensive than a MacBook Air) but not about Mac OS being better by not having viruses and spyware.
The main advantage of the OS is not the lack of viruses etc. but because it is made by the same company as the computer. Anything microsoft cant be expected to work when its couple with any random hardware. Besides being buggy and annoying at best.

actually, just went to local city (ACT) powerhouse and they had 10% off macs (exluding macbooks) just for the easter weekend.
Looks like some dicksmiths won't and some will have this discount.
They also had a manager special of 15% off all consoles (which u rarely see).
probably can get a pricematch at EB or GAME if people are looking for a cheap console.
That would be excluding Macbook Pros. I picked up a 13" white Macbook today for $1484 from that very store.
$5 cheaper than edu disount for Mac Mini.
But great deal if you want something on the day!
