Be quick guys!

Credit goes to OzBargain user: tongyun for telling us about it :)

Update: Kogan has tweeted that this was not a price error, however this has since been quickly removed and it is unknown if orders will be honoured.

    Just didn't buy one!

  • with 500 positives..even if 450 people would have bought this deal 450(could be more outside ozbargain)*432=$194400 that's a good money for kogan in a day :)

    • Probably like $20000 of that is profit, if that.

      (estimation)

    • And those 500 people told their 50 friends to order this phone and that could easily hit over millions.

      • +1

        sad face

        I don't have 50 friends

    • +1

Or $180 x 450 = $81,000 loss and counting.. Hate being a pessimist but if this is a pricing error kogan will never honour it.. Its not the same as the lens mug loss.. This is way too big… Guess all the winning from the ispone case will be going towards this..

      • +2

Or if he does honour it and bitches on about how much it cost him as much as he did with the lens mugs then it has to be worth way more in advertising.

  • +2

I just saw this ad on a webpage. Do you guys think it means anything? Or does it just mean the ads are automatically linked to the websites prices without any checking beforehand?

    http://www.tiikoni.com/tis/view/?id=6256e1a

    ^ link to the ad

    • THERE IS HOPE!!!

      • +1

The ad is feeding off Kogan site.

  • +3

    Take my money already!
    Now give me my S4.

    Best regards,
    iPhone Lover

  • +1

I'm surprised that it is still available and not out of stock by now.

Shows that there is some problem.

  • +1

Becoming an Ozbargainer=My pocket is being drained
Damn you Ozbargain, but take my money though.

  • I am using Note 2! Is it worth for changing to this S4? @@

    • A friend who switched from Note 2 to S4
told me No obvious difference apart from a couple of things like Full HD screen and no S Pen & functions
I wouldn't bother unless you want to join the wave of pricing error.

      I ordered one too lol

    • No.

    • haha! just buy one then resell it!

  • +4

Here is why this might be a price error:
Got an email today from kogan saying price = $589 (save $180 on $769 RRP)
    This price = $409 (save $180 x 2 =$360 on $769 RRP)
    Possible human error??
PS: The email also said deal ends midnight.

    • +1

That's all i have to see.
      It's obviously a pricing error.

      Save your time peeps…

    • Let's see what price tag after midnight.

      • Lol this feels like those COTD deals, where there's a new "deal" released every hour

        • +1

          It's good for the consumers.

  • Thanks again ozbargain - hope they honor it

    • The T&C has specified that they wont honor any price error.
      Fingers crossed again.

I didn't need one, neither did the wife, my mistress or the dog, but I noticed my Nexus 4 didn't have a phone, so I bought one.

  • +3

I just have to keep repeating: "I don't need this, I dont need this"

  • +2

And my growing pile of gadgets keeps growing…

  • +7

On Kogan's website, almost every 20 seconds someone brought a new S4 i9505 black. A small popup windows on the left hand side tells which state the customer is from.

  • +12

Ok, this page is getting too popular. I just can't just stand on the side and do nothing! Bought one too :)

  • +1

EDIT: Kogan corner browser order update: S4 frequency… prolly posted 100 times in this thread already.

  • I saw this deal on a last.fm ad first of all! Gawked at the price but thought it must be legitimate if it's being advertised externally. Might not be the case though…

  • +1

It's fun to see every few seconds, the thingy pop out.

"Someone in XXXX just bought Galaxy S4 4G i9505…"

  • +2

my motivation to wake up tomorrow morning is to see if this deal is still going! good night!

  • I'm out of nails to bite- dammit it was an old habit!

  • +26

Been googling nexus 5 news every single day for the past 3 months…

    Bought an s4…

    • used gift card + $9 to get the Qi wireless charging pad
getting ready for the nexus 5 :)

  • Bought one - Night all :)

    • +1

      Bought one too, night m0tyrider!

  • FYI —>
after midnight but the price is still $409 :|

  • I feel like this is probably a pricing error.

I got an email today from Kogan saying "Samsung Galaxy S4 4G only $589 | Save $180!"

And $589 - 180 = $409, so it seems to me they have accidentally taken the 'savings' from the sale price.

Wonder if they will honour it.

    • +2

Probably not. Seem mighty convenient that theyve that theyve made a few mill out of this and now its going to take weeks to get our money back.

Oh well, the life of an ozbargainer.

  • +1

If Kogan honours the price, great!
    If they don't, saving $431.99
I highly doubt that it will be honoured though =(

  • +3

This one remind me about Harvey Norman Asus tablet on December last year

But may be Kogan will not be like HN

  • I can't see them honouring the deal if they are losing $50+/phone.

    • IF it is a mistake then they are losing much more than $50 a phone.

      • I'm just taking by what the unique mobile rep wrote on wp, it's around $50 per unit below cost.

  • When I googled s4 price and the ad for kogan came up near the top, it said "world's best price….." It's gone now 15 minutes later. Maybe they hacked?

  • still going crazy… ppl still buying!
RE: the pop ups from the Kogan site

  • This can't be real, they can't possibly still have stock.

    • Yeah, don't people know these phones are endangered.

  • +1

Just bought one. I was happy with my S2 but with the lightly cracked screen I've been looking for an excuse to upgrade. I guess this it!

  • +1

They have fixed the price to 611. So sad

    • Still $409 + Delivery for me

      • +1

yes. but once you add it to your basket. it changes.

  • -5

Price has been fixed to $611. Fingers crossed that means kogan was aware of the deal the entire time and will honor it!

    • +4

      Why the neg then?

    • +2

      So why you neg?

Edit: rookie beat me to it, damn rookie

    • +4

      Revoked in 3,2,1…

  • +2

    Price back to $589

    • could be…
damn, should've bought more than just one.

      • One should be enough mate

  • +1

Price back to $589.00… confirmed price error sorry folks :(

    • :(

    • +7

      confirmed by who?

  • And it's over…

  • Just finished…lol

  • +1

price just went up to $589, then to $629

  • just refreshed now and $589 :)

  • I think they turned off their online payment system somehow 30 minutes ago. Cause the price was still 400 but non of my 3 credit cards went through. and now its back to normal price.

  • Bought one at $409 price. Yep same here. Seeing $589. I hope they honor previous sales.

  • fak. missed out by all of 3 minutes :(

  • +1

Wasn't the original email saying price ends midnight for $589?

  • The price just changed back.

  • +1

Just wonder, how many people already bought this ? I don't think Kogan has that many stock LOL

  • still seeing pop ups on kogan of people buying it still.

    • -1

      hehe n00bs

    • Yeh still seeing a sale every 30 seconds XD

  • +7

Kogan soon to be another Hardly Normal!!! Sigh

  • +3

if this goes through by way of Samsung and Kogan having a deal… finger's crossed
iPhone5S' pricing will be majorly under the microscope, GG Samsung.

  • Damn price back to $589…was in the middle check out :(

  • Missed it by that much…..

  • Insane price. Bought one just on principle.

  • +1

Missed it noooooo…. I hope all that got it receive their phones :)

    • Why neg. My comment. . ??? Did it hurt someone?

      • +1

There are some real douchebags on OzB dude. I think theyre pissed off that you got 2 and they didnt get any, or they think you're being greedy by buying 2 instead of 1. Dont worry about them.

        • or may be it was limited to 1 per customer.

        • I guess I should have stated that I got one and my wife got one .. Thanks for clearing that up. .

  • +1

anyone taking bets on if they will honor this?

    I bet $589 they dont :)

canon mug thing they honored because they didnt lose THAT much money - but this……

    • +1

I dont want to believe you but I think you are right. But but..it cant be pricing error. They should and would have picked up this long time ago.

    • +2

I'd they honour it great .. If not .. I save heaps of money. . Win /Win

  • +10

Either way this was a fun ozbargain experience :)

  • +1

OMG saw outlook firefox tab email counter go +1 and my heart sank!! Thought kogan cancelled my order but was stupid geekbuying promoting Iphone 5c cases. Phew

  • This deal was meant to go up until midnight.
Coincidence that the price went back to $589 at about 12:30am?

I'm still going with Samsung strategy to force iPhone5S prices down. (every1 knows the initial launch prices are marked up heavily to recover R&D costs)

From a consumer POV, would you pay $800+ for the upcoming 5S after seeing the competitor's model (S4) at this price point?

    • It did go down on 12:00am. I had the item at my basket for 400$ at 12:03 but tried 3 times with different credit cards and didnt work. 20 minutes later they changed the price.

    • +2

That makes zero sense. Why would Samsung partner with a grey import seller like Kogan for a 6 hour price reduction? They've got their own stores if they wanted to pull a stunt like that and as if it would have any effect on 5S prices.

It's obviously a pricing error it's just a matter of waiting to see if Kogan will honour it which hopefully they will.
