I'm taking up a 2 year position in Italy and looking for advice on a good and cost effective way to organise travel insurance. As no one seems to provide coverage for that length of time it looks like I might need to buy 2 single year policies. The Italian consulate in Melbourne have informed me that I'll need to provide evidence of insurance for the entire stay at the visa interview.
The things that I guess would be important are
- emergency repatriation
- specialist healthcare
- loss or theft of possessions
- personal legal liability
I'd be interested to hear from anybody who has done this before or can recommend an insurer.
Cheers.
Choice magazine did travel ins not so long ago, may be good to have a quick look to see what to look out for. I see Choice in a library.
