  • That's an expensive pie. What ever happened to pie & coke $2?

  • $5 for the beer and $5 for the pie? How is that a deal?

  • -1

    NO DEAL!!!

  • +2

In WA you only get half a beer. :P

    • Because all WA ALH pubs only have half pints and pint glasses.

  • -1

expensive!! would pay this anywhere for a pie and beer.. no deal

  • -2

    285ml in WA, BS Mate. You're paying $6+ for a pie…

    • I agree, I'd feel a little cheated over there too!
But why are you negging it when you're listed as coming from Melbourne???

      • I'm in Perth. Updated profile.

        • LoL. Now you can feel cheated!!!

  • How is this a deal, grabbing a beer from a bottle shop plus a pie from the servo is cheaper and you also get more beer per dollar.

  • Yeah, sorry, this shouldn't be more than $5 for it to be a 'bargain'.

Why would you need a voucher, for such and overpriced deal?

  • +1

Gotta love the cheapskates negging this. Obviously $10 would be overpriced for food and a beer from a shop however as a price in a bar/bistro its pretty good.

    • I don't eat pies, nor drink beer. The price doesn't seem like much of a deal though.

It would have been useful, if they mentioned somewhere on their site, what a normal price for such a meal at the pubs listed is.

That was the consumer can make an informed decision. As it stands, this seems more like advertising, than a deal.

I don't eat pies, nor drink beer.

        That's unAustralian !!!

        • LOL…

It would have been useful, if they mentioned somewhere on their site, what a normal price for such a meal at the pubs listed is.

I suspect there is a wide variation, depending on the venue…

EG at the Brighton hotel SA, Grazier's pie is $17.90

at the Cherry Hill Tavern Vic it's $16.50

Herdsman lake tavern WA is $18.90…. etc etc

        • C'mon, how hard could it be? You've probably stuffed around for a while getting those 3. Surely they could get someone to sit there and list the other 139 venues prices and take up 3 more pages of webspace and/or paper!!! LoL ;)

    • I would agree if we lived in the UK or the States that it's not much of a special…
But like you've said, not bad for a pub meal over here. Then add to that the ambience of a pub with the TV on the sports channel, a few guys talking shit, some sexy chick serving up the pie, and you've got the whole package. Not just eating a pie in the car by yourself with a can!

  • price is too inflated…..ive seen steak and a glass of beer deals for those prices with a side of salad and chips…..

  • Clearly all the people negging this don't eat at pubs. Read the rules and don't give stupid negs for something that isn't relevant to your prim and proper anti pub meal lifestyle.

  • Printed off a dozen copies… Plenty of mates and/or colleagues who'll be up for it!!!
Especially with the amount of pubs around town doing it. And one right down the road from our office!!!
Ps. I would feel a little cheated if I was in WA!

  • Here are a couple of menus listing the Grazier's pie served with potato mash, peas and gravy for around $18. I don't think they are your usual four 'n twenty pies.

Please refrain from negative voting unless you can find a cheaper deal for the same pies.

    • My "NO DEAL!!!" comment was based on the description and picture showing a beer and a pie on a plate only. Based on the above info i'm more likely to take it on. Perhaps the description and as above the savings would've made it more appealing. All they would need to say is something along the lines of "Save up to $17" for example.

Thanks OP. I used this voucher on my phone at The Boundary Hotel in East Bentleigh tonight. It was great, the pie is home made and larger than a normal pie. The people negging this are idiots who expect that everything should cost $2 - and are half the reason manufacturing and business in general are going down the gurgler - it costs money to make, serve and clean up after you've eaten the pie people! Get out and support your local.

    • I was going to use it before the game yesterday at Y&J. But after my Saturday night the last placed I felt like being was a pub!

  • Supervisor/manager wouldn't honour voucher at Brooklands Tavern (WA) tonight. Said that the promotion was actually beginning in October (even though it clearly states 1-30 Sept) because they hadn't received the code from head office yet. So no pie and small WA-size beer for me!

And yes, for a pub meal, $10 is a good deal. Most meals at Brooklands were around $20, steak around $30. Pies were $18 (but with sides, unlike voucher).
