Should be. It's a ZTE device - the homepage (with specs and manuals) is: http://www.zte.com.au/telstra/MF60.htm. Note that these are not designed for continuous use - they get quite hot. They will also timeout if left unused for a while. You can get extension aerials if necessary for borderline areas.
mine hasn't timed out.. I've been using it at work (with a work SIM) for TeamViewer remote access as the ADSL here at work has been flaky for the past few days. Guys in Singapore are remoting to my laptop using 3G on this WAP, with no issues.
I was looking to buy one of these in the past, got the Huawei Y201 to use as a hotspot device in the end. You get phone functions, battery lasts longer, and the size is almost identical.
If you are not desperate to get a modem like that, you could wait for a cheap mobile phone. Unless it is a 4G mobile wifi modem.
I was interested to get one of these, too bad the data is now 2Gb. But still could find unlocked model plus 5Gb data on ebay.
also $39 at dick smith from tomorrow until next monday :)

I wonder with the 2 vs 5GB of data, if it is tied to the sale date of the modem or imbedded with the production. IE will stores with older stock still have %GB ones?
There is nothing on the box itself.
I believe the 30 days commences when the included SIM card is activated.
the shops send the modems back to have them reconfigured etc, many of these modems will have the security seal sticker stuck on them many times over :D
Anyone know where to get this unlock for a good price?
$37.05 @ Officeworks with price match.. Woo!
and ow is 5gb not 2gb :)
Which means they wont PM if they notice.
When I did an OW pricematch, they already knew that it was $39 @ JB Hi-Fi & Harvey Norman, they did not know about Big W & DSE too. They were umming and arring about it, called Head Office to confirm and said "We are not allowed to price match Harvey Norman but we can Price Match JB"…. Uhhhh I asked to price match Dick Smith, neither of those two.
She said they will price match to JB Hi-Fi $39 "until we are not allowed to anymore". I didn't bother arguing that it was not the store I quoted & denying a pricematch would be against policy, they were still price matching it anyway in their own round about way, it was just a rather …odd… experience.
It seems that Officeworks have been tightening their price matching policy lately, there are retailers on a blacklist (the usual grey import suspects) but have also been using the line "it's not identical because our return policy is better than theirs" a few times (across different stores).
My suggestion is to refrain from mentioning the Officeworks Pricematch on OzBargain, because I suspect that they have employees trawling through OzBargain comments looking for price match suggestions they can put an end to either by dropping the price to be the same so they don't have to beat it by 5% or look for loopholes to get out of it which they will then said an email to all stores blocking the price match. Don't tip them off!
Is this unlockable?
