  Baidu, same as all the leading internet companies in China, will do everything they could to please the Chinese government, included turning-in of any user who they think he/she might endanger the power of authorities simply by publishing written materials, leading him/her to spend the rest of his/her life in jail.

  do you guys seriously think, of the 1B people in china and all cheapskates around the world that will use this service - that the Chinese government will look at or give a crap about your poems or selfies or blog or whatever you store on this? haha. more likely the only risk it it just all disappears one day, or baidu decide to block international clients.

  you don't have to discussing about humanright or censorship here.
  as a Chinese, I feel very sad about comments below, especially some Chinese's comments.

  if you worry about someone reading your files, and you prefer to use google/dropbox, that's fine. just keep in mind that US government may also read your file.

  and most of viewers are Australian, unlikely one would have stored or interested in storing "sensitive data" in Chinese server.

    Truely I respect your love to your country. It's true that there's no need to talk about politics on a tech forum, however "not mentioning" doesn't mean the issues about human rights and censorship do not exist nor have they been resolved.

    Baidu is just a company, but who are the major shareholders? What's their relationship to the China communist party? I'm afriad there's something more than "just a company".

    Interestingly you feel "sad" about Chinese talking bad about China. Please don't be ashamed of revealing the true darkness of China to the whole world, this is something that everyone should be aware of, which our next generation have their rights to know.
