Nothing specifically. We will be launching a product and price sale this week to clear out some computers we have stock of.

  • My old $29 harvey norman special is driving me nuts. But I'm on a budget :-(

FYI, for those looking, no DD-WRT for this. See http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=749324

    • Thanks Gav. That's a shame though.

    • I actually replied to your price match request directly, unfortunately we can't match that price, checked with our US supplier and we are paying that much $US for that model.

      • Ah, ok - I didn't get that reply for some reason; thanks for checking!

        • No problem, it is a new system so there are still some kinks I guess. People are using the codes it generates though so most of them must be getting through.

  • When will you doing something on the DHP-540 powerline unit? I'll take two at 50%!!!

  • Very ordinary reviews… but for the price is worth it. Any idea if this has a print server? Interwebs seem silent (indicating no).

  • I am not sure if i can ask here, what the difference between this and apple airport extreme?

    • You can ask that here but you might not like the results ;)

One is $44 and made by D-Link the other is $249 and made by a company that actually cares about what it makes.

I have 3 Extremes networked together running my house. I love them. I buy them from Gumtree, cheap ($100-150 normally) and because I bought a (Used) iMac that had 3 years Applecare all of the routers etc automatically get covered under the iMac's extended warranty (which I have used when one of the Airport Extremes failed, and Apple just replaced it with another one).

Look below for multiple comments by the anti-Apple crowd but just try for the same kind of service from D-Link as you get from Apple and you will be disappointed.

  • I don't have airport extreme, but i am thinking getting 1 of those dual band router or airport extreme. Depend which suit me better.

My have a normal N300 modem/router. I like the "Dual Band Gigabit", but how do i get gigabit if my modem doesn't have gigabit

    • 'Dual band' is referring to the wireless functionality (transmits & receives in both 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz bands/spectrum; essentially 2 routers in 1).

Gigabit is referring to the RJ45 Ethernet ports, so to utilise gigabit speeds you need connect network cable to a gigabit enabled network card in your pc (standard motherboard integrated or dedicated PCIe card).
