after having a rodeo, im not sure i would drop money on a d-max.

anyone with experience? would much rather a 1-2 year old hilux for that money.

It won multiple 4x4 ute of the year. http://www.isuzuute.com.au/news/isuzu-d-max-picks-up-three-u…

I drove the last model and was thoroughly disappointed - it thumped around, was noisy and pretty slow, and the cabin was pretty uncomfortable. A friend with this model has had several issues with 4wd not engaging when out bush, and Isuzu are pretty reluctant to fix anything under warranty.

I'm assuming this is an end of model run out as the model on offer from Holden (which includes a wagon variant) is different to the Isuzu models.

The better deal is the run out Ford has on the mid-spec Ranger at the moment IMHO. http://canberratimes.drive.com.au/motor-news/this-weeks-best…

And a 1-2 year old Hilux is a pretty rough place to be, considering what is on offer from the others. The new hilux is out next year, the current model is nearly 10 years old now…

the new holden colorado is built by general motors not isuzu.

      • A current D-Max has the Hilux well covered. Hilux have been on a steady decline relative to these newer 4x4's (D-Max, Amarok (softer for sure)) - I say relative due to the rapid increases in the other models next to the very staid Hilux. Sounds like you may have driven a dud demo model? I've been in the most recent D-Max turbo diesel with all the trimmings and it's sensational. Drove it from Lightning Ridge to Coonamble and surrounding scrub and it never missed a beat.

  • I'm sure they wouldve refined it since the rodeo/isuzu era… it's been 15 years-ish since the last rodeo

I find it fascinating that car manufacturers advertise their cars with features like "bluetooth" and "iphone connectivity". It's a $40,000 car that is used for driving. Are $50 gimmicky features like bluetooth actually critical to buyers?

    • you'll be surprised how many people still dont know what bluetooth does

    • +1

you'll find it even more worrisome that certain high end cars dont even have bluetooth or iphone connect as standard. and by high end we are talking $200k+ cars.

  • Bought 2, thankyou OP

Some don't even come with 8 track.

Came here for the "bought X, thx OP" (X>1) gags.
