  • Personally I wouldn't buy TCL TV's The quality is not good at all. I'll stick to big brands like LG and Samsung..

    • lucky that is just you. Not all people can affort top brands.

      • -2

True. but its better to buy a top brand once than buying such brands and it ditches you after a while

        • +1

Dunno if I agree with this. I paid $2k for a Samsung LCD about 4 years ago - it carked it last year. They're not built to last - even the big names.

        • Samsung as a larger brand and costs you $2000, you can argue that it should last at least 5yr, so you should have gotten them to fix it under statutory warranty under Australian consumer laws.

Where as if you had a $400 42" TCL tv, you can barely argue that it should last 2yrs.

I've got a 2nd gen Hitachi plasma 42" which costed 10k, however I've used it for over 10yrs and the picture quality on it is on par and often better than the cheap yum cha brands like TCL.

I can't agree with this. The difference in picture quality between known and lesser brands can often be slim, if not negligible, if you do your research and find the right one. Say a brand name costs $2000 and you can find a comparable lesser brand for $800. If your brand TV lasts 5 years then your lesser brand only needs to last 2 years before it becomes better value for money, easily within the time frames of Aus Consumer Law warranty. Not only that but doing this allows you to upgrade your TV more often, if you so desire, therefore arguably maintaining a higher level of picture quality than the alternative method of purchasing big brand products.

    • Did you own one?

For better quality, Hisense is the one to get.

      • no but a friend does. he is not really happy with it..

    • Conversely I have a 46" TCL TV (not the one here as mine is not 3D) and think it's fantastic.

  • Hi rep, anything 50" or above? Don't mind no 3D or smart feature but need FHD and LED though? Thanks!

    • Hi wtfnodeal … We don't I am sorry - it is just what you see here I am afraid!

  • Anything 32" or below? I just need an extra one for the spare bedroom and 39" is too large.

    • Sorry juzz0, only what is listed I am sorry!

      • Just for completeness, anything between 32" and 39", and 46" and 50"?

  • no specs rep?

  • Is there a store at these pickup locations to view the tvs? Also how about warrenty?

    • Currently Harvey Norman have the TCL range, we do not have them on display I am sorry as we are now running them out.

I bought one last year TCL 42" LED TV from 2nds World. Till this moment it is quite impressive and energy saver. It is like 7+ energy star rating and 3 HDMI ports are very useful. The only negative point is base, it is fixed doesn't oscillate. So I have bought lady susan turn table as a substitute.

    • @ mithunthakkar
      LAZYsusan ;)

      • no he bought a lady named susan to turn his tv and he will not let her be lazy :P

  • This TCL 42" for 468 or the Soniq 40" for $350 from JB?

    • +3

      This TCL ;)

    • Thanks BDL - Three year warranty does apply!

  • Doesn't seem anything special. I am in the market for a cheap Chinese led tv at the moment, Rep is there any reason to buy one of these rather than a changhong, medion, awa, soniq, kogan, that all seem to be a fair whack cheaper?

    • TCL is a major brand in China. I believe it's ranked no.1 in the China market.

They may appear fairly low key but TCL is apparently ranked 6th largest TV producer (according to Wiki anyway)

      • it is true… TCL actually is the OEM for samsung for many years. The product is no worse than samsung on the same price level.

What are the codecs that the media player will play?

Also, any USB slots? On the 42" product description, only 3 x HDMI slots are mentioned.

    Thanks.

  • using a 46 inch tcl led tv bought about 2 months ago..so far so good and picture quality is good if not the best

  • I bought a TCL from Harvey Norman when it was on sale a while back. For a 2nd TV in our back room it goes ok. Takes a while to turn on but not as long as most "smart" tvs these days.

  • Model number on website and picture don't match up…

This is the what the L46V6300F3DE actually looks like - http://images.getprice.com.au/products/2240-L46V6300F3DE.jpg

    • Is this 3D TV 100Hz or 50Hz? If it is a 3D TV it should be at least 100Hz is that correct?

  • Hi OP
Do you have 50 inch ones?

Your question has already been answered.

Are you too lazy to read from the beginning of the thread?
