    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/5000mAh-2-USB-Wh-Portable-Externa…

    No deal sorry.

Oh, and they are more like 1600MAH in reality. Can't trust the generic portable chargers unfortunately. I have one!

5000mah 3.6V is equal to 3600mAh 5v and you can expect 10% conversion loss so even if they are 100% truthful the best you can expect is 3200mAh 5V output.

      • good god - what is to neg? Is simple, basic electronics. P=IV
I am an electronic technician - i stated a simple fact, I made no value judgement on whether they were being misleading or otherwise, just made a simple calculation from the specified 3.6v 5000mAh battery.

        • That escalated fast.

      • expect is 3200mAh 5V

No, not even close. You won't even get a single full charge of an iphone with this.

These devices run on 18650 Lithium ion cells, whos ratings are notoriously over stated.

        Here's an extreme example:

      • It's been a while since I've done electronics but mAh isn't a measure of power, but a measure of capacity. Where it can sustain a current load of 3.2 Amp for 1 hour. of 1.6 Amp for 2 hours etc. The voltage should not affect the capacity according to your P = VI…

  • busted, thanks ash2000

  • I have 2S 7.4v 5000mAh LiPo batteres here for radio controlled cars, and they are massive. There is no way this thing is 5000mAh. Hell, even the 2200mAh batteries i have are bigger than this.

Oh, and it's from shoppingsquare… nuf said :/

you realise that being 3.7v 5000mAh is the same capacity as 2500mAH 7.V - both are 18.5Wh or 66,600J
5000mAh 7.4V should be double the size as it requires exactly double the cells.

Now you're just showing off ;)

      • U=RI, where U is the Voltage, R is the resistance and I is the current.
        or P
        V = n*R.T …..

    • got Lepow 6000mAh from ebay. manufacturer said it had 85% efficiency, so I would get about 5000mAh. charged my 2500mAh S4 only got 50% before Lepow run out of life. so in reality from 6000mAh only had 1250mAh. still got full refund

I have one too. Not too shabby, paid about $40 a year ago, it's comparable to the Energizer XP 4000.
Can recharge a Nexus phone about 2 times and a bit :-)

  • Not really a good price for something like this with no Safety Certification.

If one wanted to take the risks (safety, and unknown 'true' capacity) one could get a 'cheapie' via eBay.

    EDIT
Oh, sorry, I see that Ash2000 already pointed out a 'cheapie' on eBay. (Reading and posting from an iPhone).

Reading and posting from iPhone? Nuf said… Lol

I know! Typical iphone user needing to announce to the world that they have an iPhone :-)

  • I bought a 12000mAH charger for only $9.99. This deal is not even close to average value. Pretty crap really.

    • Can you provide some details?

      Link, Performance, etc

  • I bought a 780'000 mAH battery pack for $199. That is ~4000mAH per 1$. Try to beat that.
Size? Don't need to worry, as I always keep it in the car.

    • Easier and cost less to have a cig-lighter car charger in the car.

  • only 1a output :(

btw some aldi stores still stock power banks :)

I picked up 2 of the ALDI 7400Mah for $20 each recently
I can charge my Nexus 4 twice (almost) off each one.
Charges my ipad mini but slowly
