3000kg Jack Stands $19.99 Save $40 - Supercheap Auto

610

$19.99 Save $40
3000kg maximum capacity.
Pin type adjuster.
Height range 318mm to 476mm.

I wouldn't usually trust SCA gear but as this has to be made to Australian Standards it seems like a good deal.
Good to combine with the $13.99 15W-40 Valvoline oil (http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Valvo…)

Same as http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/95185

    Good stand for the price.
I've never had any problems with mine going on 3 years now.

    • Could you do me a favor and measure the holder (the contact point to the highest part of the stand)? I want to make sure that it will fit on the side of my car

      • Apparently they go up to 476mm?

        • I have a another set of jack stands, and want to ensure that both have the same height so the car doesn't slant when using different stands.

Couldn't you just use both stands from the same set on each axle? Put these on the back and your old ones on the front?

Unless you are worried about slant front to back but I can't understand why you would be?

        • When doing exhaust work, it is much more convenient to have all four wheels up. Also I guess it can come in handy in the future aswell. For $20 why not! Only if its feasible though

        • I took out my whole exhaust with 2 sets of these. (Dump pipes through to muffler as one piece, 300zx z32 twin exhaust) Was enough height for me to squeeze under the car with probably 20cm clearance from the underbody.

    • I left mine of the back porch in the box after using them twice. Then we had a crazy storm and the rain came under the porch sideways and destroyed the box completely (cardboard vs. rain storm you can imagine).

Stands came out of it unaffected, not even rusting.

Pretty happy, though having more levels of adjustment would be ideal, can't complain for $20.

Would they be any good for squats and other weight lifting exercises?

    • No

    • Nice.

    • You can only do squats with these if you are a midget

  • i was just looking into these and wondering if they were a good price. :D good to see some good upvotes on these already

  • Got a set last time… pretty good..

  • +2

Come to think of it, I don't have a stand for my car. Might be time for me to get one just in case

  • Got a set of these last time, they do the job :)

  • +1

I've had mine for a few years. Great product. Great price.

  • These look good.. Especially the fact they're pin type, not Ratchet.

Only thing I wish they had the collar go right down close the ground. Adds an extra level of safety if a weld breaks. They do thave a nice thick , stout frame though which is a plus. Def a bargin

  • The main concern of buying it for me is that:
    1. It has a V shape structure, wouldnt it require precision to align the car right?
    2. What happens if you don't align the car to the flat point of the V, would it slide down?

Would be good if someone can provide some input from EXPERIENCE.

    • Hmm never thought about this and i've been doing it for years
Guess it slides into position when you lower car into position?

Regardless its never slipped for me and i've had the whole car off the ground on 4 stands many times.

  • Do my own servicing and having at least one set of these is minmal requirement.
Use your cars jack to get side of car up, put in one stand, same on the other side. Do either front or back of car, so only need one set. Chock the wheels so car doesn't roll.

Did timing belt on my Subaru, which is actually a quad cam since it's a boxer engine. Subaru charge over 2k for this + major service. Spent about $500 + $200 in tools.

  • Dont appear to be good for unibody cars especially where you can only jack support via the pinch welds. I purchased jack stands at repco which have the deep V style tops for supporting the pinch weld positions.

    • So its it good or bad for pinch weld cars?

      • bad. avoid these.

        • I would agree too. But its surprising that others don't think the same.

    • Why choose the factory jacking point at pinch welds? They're only intended for jacking up one corner with the standard scissor jack.

You support the car with these stands on a chassis (such as crossmember) or suspension point.
I've had a car supported on similar stands (with same contact plate) at lower wishbone-chassis junctions for over a year, no problem.

  • Good product, but I'm getting their 1,000kg wheel ramps instead (i've got a 4x4, so with the existing clearance, i'm better off jacking up the wheels) … they're in the catalogue for 60$ per ramp, or you can get the 750kg ones for 40$ (at least that's what the manager said would be a managers special in all adelaide stores)

  • If anyone is wondering if they can actually take 3000kg, i can tell you i regularly 2500kg on these and it is fine (yes i know 2500kg isn't 3000kg but its the max our forklift can lift at work).

    • Also a good price for what it is. I am over those cheap steel trolley jacks though. I have the 1400KG SCA model (same just smaller) and it's heavy, hard to get under lowish cars. Slow to jack up, poor height and feels like it's going pop by the time you get all the weight off the ground, even on a relatively light 1250kg car. (So i can imagine the 2000KG model not being much different on a large car)

I'm hanging out for those aluminium ones from costco when it opens here

      • They are pretty sexy aren't they? I bought the jack stands from costco too. Both are some kind of aluminum alloy and really light and nice looking. The costco jack is really large but very flat and sleek with a huge handle. I think the jack was $167 or something and the stands were $58 or something.

  • Got one, for $20 it is well worth the money.

  • Got a set also.. Display stock looked good.

Really which it was the next model up on sale. They have threaded adjustment, and a U shapped contact, which is better for most applications, and even more solid looking. They're the same price as this was originally ATM ($59) , but beggars can't be choosers. These are still awesome value.

  • I paid that (or more) for my 1500KG stands some years ago. These are much better than mine.

  • What is this?
    Do I need it?
    It's 50% off

  • Thanks OP - have wanted these for ages and thought $60 was a total rip.

  • Thanks OP. Please note free home delivery, at least to 2233

  • Need another pair for 2nd car, thanks OP.
