Defiance has just been cut in price. It is still upwards of $40 in stores here for the PC version and upwards of $60 for the console version.
It is a pretty good game especially for the price. I'd describe it as an MMO borderlands with a solid sci-fi TV series that helps you get into the world.
I had been sitting on the wall about Defiance…is it actually fun? Are the servers laggy? Don't want 300ms ping when am trying to snipe…
There isn't much lag on Xbox. But the game isn't that fun
So since we are shooting aliens and bugs on a MMO genre….Defiance ($10) vs Firefall (F2P) which one would win points? hmmmm decisions……. :|
For 10 bucks I think you can afford to try it out, movie tickets are more for only 2 hours.
Either way feel free to ask me about it, I was on the fence but tried it and am liking it.
As for the ping, the exact number is not shown in game, there is lag though which is inevitable playing on US servers. It would be around ~200ms+ at a guess, for PVE sniping this isnt an issue, yet to make my mind up for PVP have only been using a shotgun.
Thanks for reminding me about Firefall. I knew there was something I was meant to download today. Open beta here I come!
(One of the main developers worked on WoW until the first xpac and has tried to make Firefall like vanilla WoW in terms of difficulty and reward.
I am interested in this game for the 360 but I keep hearing so much crap about it being broken a lot :/
The season has now ended, does the story line in the mmo end too? :D
Now the games events will begin to tie in to the second season.

Amazon is really expensive to ship games for some odd reason (but not DVDs and Blurays). I have a Shipito mailbox which works out much cheaper (usually under $10) for postage.
