Not often you see an i7 under $600.
4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, HD4000 Graphics, Win 8.
If anyone can find the full specs, please post.
Edit: It is likely this model.

anyone know the exact model so can also claim cashback?
I think its:
Acer E1-571-736 … Windows 8 Notebook
It's from DSE, no no doubt it would never arrive if you order it!
Ordered an asus last monday, arrived on Friday.
I've actually had a similar experience with DSE, the above comment is an obvious over-exaggeration. I ordered a TV from them, which was in stock at their warehouse, and it took two weeks to arrive. It was from Victoria, too. I also ordered a laptop from them about six months ago for work and that took about 3 weeks to arrive, cannot recall where it came from off the top of my head, but from within Australia, and in stock, it's a little ridiculous.
"Its not often you see an i7 for under $600" but when you do, you can bet its an Acer.
0r when you do, you can also bet that it is Hardly Normal's $300 cashback, $500 cashback or trade-in-your-laptop offer.
All I can find
is an i3 not an i7 laptop on their website
and RRP is $549

but dick smith has specs as i7

The product code is E1-571-736… The 736 indicates its a core i7-36__xx, itll probably be a E1-571G-73634G50 at a guess, just without the graphics card and with a i7-3632QM 2.2 Ghz, up to 3.20 GHz.
From what I understand of Acer's product codes:
E1 - series
571(g) - model (dedicated graphics)
7363 - CPU identifier
4G - amount of ram
50 - HDD size
But I might be wrong. It would't be the first time DS have stuffed up.
I think it's i7-3612QM up to 3.1 GHz.
I rekn ur right
Can SSD be installed on this?
I can't give a definite answer, but I don't see why not. Its not an ultrabook so there's plenty of room, the hard drive should be accessible from the rear, or if not you should be able to replace the DVD drive.
maybe this model

some websites indicate that the 3 usb ports are only usb 2.0 even though it has a gigerbit lan port.
Good for office and everyday use. Not for hardcore gamers.
Went in to Adelaide CBD store and had a look.
All 3 USB ports are USB2.0. Which was the only factor for me not to buy this model.
I didn't want to experience the slowness of USB2.0 for next 3 years. :)
meh i don't care—edit —
