The link above is for purchasing, here's the link with the details of the offer: http://www.greenmangaming.com/the-bureau-xcom-declassified-o…

It's 10% off atm ($45), and you can choose either $8 cashback or $12 credit. If all the bonuses unlock, you'll be getting The Bureau: XCOM Declassified + 1 DLC, Spec Ops: The Line, XCOM: Enemy Unknown + 2 DLC, and the classic XCOM games, for $34.

XCOM Declassified seems to be a kind of sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, but set in 1962. It still has team based combat, but it's an over the shoulder shooter rather than top down turn based strategy. Its release date is 20 August 2013.

Here are some hands-on previews:
Giant Bomb (video): http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/quick-look-ex-the-bureau-xco…
Rock Paper Shotgun (article): http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/07/22/hands-on-the-bure….

The bonuses depend on number of pre-orders. To begin with, you get the Codebreakers DLC for free (not sure what this is), and it has now reached level 2 so you get Spec Ops: The Line for free, and once it reaches level 3 you get XCOM Ultimate Bundle (the previous game + DLC) and all the classic XCOM games. Unfortunately they don't seem to list how many pre-orders are required, or what the progress is towards them. Personally I'd be surprised if they don't all get unlocked, but obviously it can't be guaranteed. These are the bonuses:

Level 1 (unlocked):
Get 10% off when you pre-purchase The Bureau: XCOM Declassified and get the Codebreakers DLC free!

Level 2 (unlocked):
Your FREE copy of Spec Ops: The Line is unlocked when the number of pre-purchases hit Level 2

Level 3 (locked):
When pre-purchase sales hit Level 3, as well as the previous benefits, you will also get a Free XCOM Ultimate Bundle, featuring XCOM:Enemy Unknown, Elite Soldier DLC, Slingshot DLC and 4x XCOM Classics (Steamworks) titles including UFO Defence, Terror from the Deep, Apocalypse and Enforce.

If you don't have a GMG account yet, feel free to use my referral code (means we each get $2 credit after you purchase): http://www.greenmangaming.com/?gmgr=kucipixo

  • Looks great. Holding my horses until it gets unlocked to level 3

    • I'm pretty sure I'll be playing it anyway, and $34 to pre-order a full price title is a very good price I think. If the bonuses unlock it'll just be icing on the cake :)

      • Very true but being an ozbargainer at heart, the more the better :P

  • Very tempting… have been burned on pre-ordered games before though…

  • XCOM Declassified seems to be a kind of sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Really isn't. Both games were make in parrallel by different developers and both are a reboot of the original series. This reboot is very different though, where as EU was more of a remake. Not sure if this game is any good, and I don't do preorders, but + for XCOM:EU and Spec Ops: the Line, both excellent.

    • If you want a look at the game you should check out GiantBomb's quicklook of it.

      • Thanks, I added the Giant Bomb video to the deal. It actually looks a lot better than what other reviews suggested.

        • yeah i think it will be a fun game…i think people are just against it because it's not traditional Xcom….you know the usual nerd rage, complain about something you've never played or probably even seen.

        • Yeah, that's what I think. It's certainly different to XCom, but I think it'll be fun to have more direct control over combat, and it still has a lot of strategy involved. Anyway, time will tell. Hopefully all the pre-order levels get unlocked though.

        • Note that some of the early previews are based on an earlier build of the game which was very different. It was originally a pretty typical shooter, but due to bad press the game was changed (so was the name).

Unfortunately they may not escape that early bad press, regardless of what the game is like now.

    • Well, that's where the 'kind of' came in. It was originally designed to be very different, but then after XCOM:EU came out it was redesigned to be more like XCOM:EU.

  • Just an update, just found that the voucher code expires 1500UTC 26/07/2013.

  • Thanks ordered. Loved the xcom franchise hope its as good as xcom:eu.

  • The deal has changed slightly, with the coupon expiring, but they're now offering $8 cashback or $12 credit. If you're happy to take the credit, it works out basically the same price ($33 instead of $33.75).

  • It looks like all the digital retailers are offering the same bundles with the same idea of stuff being locked based on pre-order numbers. I'm guessing they're all linked together, and currently Steam is listing that they're 85% of the way towards unlocking level 2.

Incidentally, Steam's price is $80 for Australia (with a 10% discount for pre-ordering). GMG's $37 price looks pretty sweet compared to that.

  • Ok, Tier 2 has been unlocked (Spec Ops: The Line). If you have pre-ordered you should already have an email with the key.

  • Tier 3 has been unlocked on Steam, but nothing mentioned of it on GMG. Incidentally, looks like they've replaced the normal version with an ANZ edition, which is listed at the same $80 pricetag as Steam (minus 10% for pre-ordering). Not sure what this means for people who have already pre-ordered. At the worst they'd refund the pre-orders, but at least we've already been emailed the free copy of Spec Ops: The Line, so it's not the worst thing I guess…

  • Tier 3 just unlocked for GMG. Check your email for the CD key. Unfortunately it's just a single key - I was hoping for separate ones to get the classic games on my Steam account but give the new one to a friend. Oh well. The new one has been on offer fairly cheaply so he can just buy it :P
