380

Credit to 015! The Sims 3 for just $5!!

http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/110287#comment-1498799

Anyway, Sims 3 is $5 on Origin, at the moment.

I haven't seen it posted, so it would be good if someone would post it up. Pretty good price.

You need to disable Javascript and use the US Origin store, to get the deal

The expansion packs are also on sale. They start at $7.99

  • I always get 'Payment Authorization Failed' when doing this via origin, how do people get around it?

    • Does using a US address work?

      • Using a US address but I always thought Origin locked out cards which were not US based?

      • +1

I used a us address and bought battlefield 3 last time using this method. However it does not seem to work now. Maybe SCUMBAG EA are catching on?

        • Unless it works using a PayPal balance not a CC via PayPal?

        • Unless it works using a PayPal balance not a CC via PayPal?

CC/Bank are all hidden from merchants, hence PayPals existence (as far as I'm concerned). You can rule that idea out.

        • They can tell that a PayPal account is an Australian one, so in theory they could block non-US PayPal accounts (there are minor differences between PayPal accounts in different regions). I've never seen a store actually do this though.

  • Yeah same thing for me using credit card. Should I try using paypal?

    • try amex or citibank card

      • Only have a 28 degrees mastercard and a visa :(

  • Thanks, worked fine with PayPal. Added to my growing digital library :/

  • Just bought it, used Paypal, it worked!!

    Great deal.. Thanks

    • I keep getting failed transaction, can u say how u did it?

      • okay so you would have already disabled JavaScript by the time you are about to log into Paypal…. then you will need to enable JavaScript again while on Paypal page… then you can log into Paypal and it should be all sweet..

        • See I get into PP all good but when I pay for it I get dumped back to the Origin site and FAILED

Do you re-disable it when you are done in PayPal?

        • +1

Java must remain disabled when adding the game into my cart.. I left it disabled..When I got to choosing the payment..I selected paypal..the web browser took me to Paypal login page..that's when I enable java again..it refreshed thepage but still kept me on Paypay login page…I then logged into Paypal..and confirmed my payment, and it was done..

        • I don't know why its not working, should be fine, unless its the card im using, possible that the cards security is blocking it :/

        • that's very strange.. Did you have Java disabled from the beginning and left it disabled? Credit card I used was Visa card (linked to Paypal)..It had no issue…unless EA has just blocked Paypal account from countries outside US, just after realising it.

        • Not java, javascript. If you download Firefox & the noscript addon you can just block origin/ea domain and leave paypal unblocked :)

        • Not sure if I needed to enable java when making the paymen through paypal.. but i did anyway, and worked a treat.

        • It's JavaScript, not Java. Two very different things.

        • That's what I meant.. see my first reply, intentionally typed Java for short as part of my continuing conversation with brent3000. thx

Is it possible to buy from Origin but stick it in Steam? lol

  • No steam, no buy

  • Will wait for when they release Sim3 Complete edition for $5, nice deal for who can't wait though…

    • +3

Have either of the two preceding games had a $5 deal like that? Seems unlikely.

    • Well the expansions are currently $8 each, I suppose it's possible in the future they may do sims 3 for $5 and all expansions for $5 each also…..

  • will this work on mac?

    • +1

yes, it will work on mac

  • Thanks. Worked with Paypal.

  • back to $19.99
