    • "Check out the Pussy on this Hot Malm" — priceless! Ikea US have a great sense of humour for putting together this site.

  • Hello,

Does anyone have any recent experience/feedback on the HÖVÅG model mattress and/or the Odda bed frame?

I'm still looking for a single mattress,as per my post in the forums, but I'm having trouble finding a bed frame, perfer wood & wood slats that are adjustable/movable around $150-250 that can handle my 100kg's.

So far only finding ones that I wouldnt trust lasting a few years or they over $300-350+. Any ideas?
Not really looking for an ensemble.

    cheers

    • My experience with ikea mattresses have not been good. I have a very thick one (so not the cheapest one there) but it is soo soft. It hurts my back. Definitely the worst mattress I've ever had.

      • I'd love a soft mattress.

      • What firmness level was it?

I bought my first IKEA mattress half year ago and I very happy with my purchase. It was HAMARVIK model at a queen size. I generally like firm mattresses and this one is firm enough to support my weight (82 kg). The only thing I could recommend is to buy a good mattress topper to increase a comfort of this model.
      Hope, it can help.

  • Does anyone know if it includes the toddler bed mattresses? I assumed it does but couldn't see any confirmation

If anyone does find it helpful. Yes it does include toddler bed mattresses. Purchased one last night.

I bought a Hesseng mattress last week (couldn't get 20% off, as we had specifically driven up from Canberra, and CBF'd dragging a trailer to Tempe again this weekend). For $800 it was a great price. For $640, its fantastic: pocket springs, latex, and natural fibres…

We tested it multiple times at Rhodes (as Tempe didn't have a queen), and chilled out for 20 minutes on it on a nonbusy weeknight. I tried beds from Snooze, Forty Winks (massive back pain after being on it for 15 mins - for 2 days), Makin Mattresses, Sleepy's etc. and this was by far my best choice.

We went with firm, although the mrs now wants a topper, which are $300 @ ikea (memory foam), we've both had a few nights of uber comfortable sleep.

Just FYI - while the beds may seem really soft, thats because a million people have jumped, sat, slept, etc. on them @ the store… i reckon if you like the firmness of a 'firm' in store, then consider a medium/firm one to buy.

  • Pity they Dont make king size mattress
Have a a sultan branded is better than my 5k mattress
