Cheapest place to buy Windows 8 from?

Does anyone know where i can get a cheap copy from?

    I think Officeworks still sells Windows 8 Pro (Upgrade) for around that price.

      If you do not have a license for a lower version of Windows you are breaching the EULA by using that.
      Same goes for using a pirated copy of windows and using the upgrade, you are still breaching the Microsoft EULA.

    The simple way to guy win8 is buy the upgrade version and either

    1. upgrade win7 OR
    2. do a clean install f win8OS and then do a in OS upgrade with win8OS

    its an old trick to use the upgrade version to do a clean install and it means the $49-59 upgrade version can become the full install version.

    Win8Pro has the codecs for dvd playing, or buy the upgrade in win8 store OR use VLC for free to play DVds

    Isn't win8.1 coming out soon which will also be more compatible with other already installed computer software and drivers etc? I can't install win8 over my win7 due to a driver i can't seem to uninstall! So am patiently awaiting win8.1
    Anyone know when that is available?

    I may be naive, but why are so many gaming PC systems sold without Windows.
    Are they all just using a pirated version?

      If they were to bundle Windows the price tag would be higher, so advertising without one gives it a more attractive price tag.

      And some people might prefer to buy Windows from an alternate source using student discount eligibility (HUP Program, MSDNAA, Back To University pricing etc.)

          Doesn't make much difference. DX11.2 only runs on 8, but probably not enough to make anyone swap if they like 7.
