Cheap but durable trampoline

Hi all,
I am thinking about getting a trampoline for my 11 year old boy.
I want it to be big (bigger is better) so my kid does not hurt himself when he is on the trampoline. Where can I find a good and affordable one (<$500 maybe)?
Thanks!!

  • Hi, we got a 12 foot trampoline form Oz Trampolines, http://oztrampolines.com.au/trampolines-size-category.asp?ca… or the 14 foot for $510.00 delivered free.

They are good quality and the company is great to deal with.

  • I got one from K-Mart for my kids. It has the wrap-around netting for safety.

Was cheap (maybe half your budget?).

No problems in 1.5 years now.

  • Thanks guys. I didn't know Kmart sells trampolines. I might go with Kmart ones.

  • One word of warning iff you buy these trampolines from Kmart etc. the netting and foam round the sides will eventually breakdown unless it is placed in a shaded area. My sister's trampoline is not in a safe condition now, 5 years later.

  • Had a 14ft that lasted 4 years before the mat stitching gave way. Replaced it with a BigW one, 12ft I think, and the stitching has let go after 15 months. Planned obsolescence I'd call it.

  • not sure what area you are in,

worth having a look, for price comparison at least

  • Also got a Jumpking tramp from Kmart. Side netting turned to poo in full sun after approx 12-18months use and had to be removed.
Kmart were also not interested in helping me track down replacement netting (which I was willing to pay for), so can't say I was impressed with their customer service.
Only positive point is the mat is still ok after 3-4yrs use.

  • I bought an 11 foot round trampoline from Target just over 18 months ago $230-ish. the spring protecting matting rotted away within 8 months. the netting has started to rip over the last 8 months. i did some stitching to repair it but it keeps ripping. rang up target and they gave me the number of the supplier. rang up the supplier and they confirmed the model and said that the trampline was within warranty and they would send a new net for free.

this trampoline has the netting to the edge of the bouncy trampoline mat, i.e. between the bouncy mat and the springs. I live in QLD so there is plenty of sunshine and UV to break down the polyethylene mesh netting quickly.

For an 11 year old - get a 13ft or larger. unless he going to flips and stuff then 13ft is good. at that age he really wouldn't need the net to go around it. you could go a traditional rectangle

    • What trampoline was this im thinking of picking up a 10ft springfree one they have $250 but was thinking of a vuly 8ft which smaller and double the price not sure what to do so many tramps out there and so many good and bad reviews on most
