  • How does the AppGratis work? Do I need to sign it up myself?

    • +2

Not if you don't want, any good deal will be ozbargained like I just did. In this case, they created a second version of the pro app with the word (AppGratis) in the title, so if you searched the google play store for "Moon appgratis" you could find it without signing up.

    • just install the app appgratis from the play store and every day it will show a paid app that is free similar to app of the day (which is also another app).

  • nice! but note that this is not the latest version (latest free version is 1.9.7)

If you look on the linked to play page, the version number is 1.9.7 - so I assume title cock-up.

The best ebook reader On Android by a mile in my opinion. Great deal.

    • I had heard that Moon pro was one of the best paid ereader apps. So I can only assume that getting it for free makes it the absolute best :)

  • Cheers OP, this is a great reader!

I use Adobe Reader's search function quite a lot (I have some big PDF's that searching certain text for is a necessity). Does this app have a text search feature?

Have just installed on tablet in preperation for upcoming holiday. Haven't been overly impressed with other readers. This looks to be a winner :)

Cudos to OP …. and the developers for making it a freebie :)

  • thx! I love this app, been running the free version for a while now

  • Good find, thanks.

  • I've been using MoonReader for months, it really is the best e-reader for Android.

  • I've been using this for years. Highly recommended!

  • Great app! ! Thanks op

  • Thx

  • Thanks OP!

Anybody knows will this special version receive future updates?

  • From the comments I read on Google play, apparently the AppGratis version only offers full access for one day???

    • From my reading of it, it's people misreading the app title. It says 'one day free', which to me, knowing how these app gratis etc deals works, makes it sound like if you download it today, it's free. and you keep it forever. But you only have the opportunity to download it today. today is the one day to download. but the features you keep forever.

  • Great find OP. Moon Reader Pro is def reminds me of Stanza in old IOS!

  • What size screen do most of you read on? I use my Galaxy s3 (so 4.8") and its very comfortable.

Does any one use a smaller screen to read?

    • 4.7" i think on my nexus 4. plenty big enough. Not as nice as my gf's 6" kindle, but certainly not a strain on the eyes.

  • Any reason to use this over googles "play books"? It now supports uploading your own ebooks to google drive and can be synced to any device and it's free.

  • Thanks OP. Was going to install it until I noticed the extra permission on the "AppGratis" version compared to the "Pro". Not sure why the free one needs access to "RETRIEVE RUNNING APPS" and "FIND ACCOUNTS ON THE DEVICE" when the pro doesn't!

  • Paid full price for this one after trying out a whole bunch of readers, and never looked back. Handles everything nicely, including comic book CBR/CBZ files. I think the page-turn stuff and the overall UI on Google Books is a bit nicer, and it's much more useful now that you can side-load your own books onto it, but this one is still pretty great, and worth snapping up now while it's free.
