Bingo. Before you support Gloria Jeans do some research into where your money is going and what it is funding. If it doesn't bother you that's OK, but it may change your mind.
Agree with the sentiment, but bear in mind that they might only be getting $10 or $12 from the coupon price. This will be more or less the cost price of the beans and the cup and the milk and the electricity etc. Throw in the syrup and it's costing them money.
Just don't go back, and you'll have (slightly) dented their finances. :)

FYI cost price would be around 30 cents a cup or less. Maybe as low as 20 cents with their buying power. Never be fooled

They could be owned by bloody Scientologists for all I care but their coffee does in fact taste like certain other brown liquids which are best left unmentioned.

It's all crap. It all tastes like boiled dirt. You don't drink it for the tase, you drink it because it's loaded with caffeine.
That's why everyone is piling sugar and milk and cocoa and syrup into it just to mask the fact that coffee actually tastes horrible and to justify the fact that they drink one every morning and most afternoons.

You've obviously never tried good coffee. I used to think the same, until cafes in Melbourne started to get it mostly right (perhaps 2 out of 3 make nice tasting coffee that needs no sugar).

I pretty much drink coffee for this reason - just for the caffeine not really the taste. To me they all taste similar. Then I went to America and the coffee there was horrible! Didn't realise how good coffee is here in Melbourne. Appreciate the taste of coffee here a lot more now.
If you like coffee, you should visit Vietnam. Hell, even if you don't like coffee, the coffees they make over there will change your perception of how coffee is supposed to taste.
