Looks like chemist warehouse during a 50% off sale
But Chemist Warehouse does 50% of RRP (which no one every sells at), whereas Woolies does 50% off their normal sell price.
Seriously peoples, do some research. These things are a joke. All marketing, smoke and mirrors.
Appeals to people's guilt or thoughts that a magic pill will fix there problems. No dice.
Exactly, it's all BS.
I agree, but I'm not sure why you replied to my comment, I was just noting that CW marketing is BS (and against Australian consumer law AFAIK), almost fitting since the products are BS.
I think you'll find that there are legitimate supplements there: Vitamin D, Iron, glucosamine, Chrondroitin, zinc, fish oil etc.
Many of the ones listed are prescribed for people with specific deficiencies. If these swisse pills are cheaper with this special than the others why not use them?
If these swisse pills are cheaper with this special than the others why not use them?
Ha! If pigs fly. A Herron pack of 120 iron tabs is cheaper than discounted Swisse bottle of 30.
Folic acid $5 for 90 at chemist. Swisse $23 for 60 at same shop.
Also, many of the vitamin companies use shitty unusable forms of the minerals.
So even though you are taking x-amount of magnesium or calcium, its the wrong form for the body to use anyway. Hence, why you end up peeing fluorescent orange.
And many of the claims by vitamin companies have been refuted by studies in recent years, hence the propensity for using terms like may help or could contribute.
Like having a tiger-rock, DO YOU SEE ANY TIGERS AROUND!?
Honestly, you can easily get almost all necessary vitamins from eating some green/red vegetables a few times a week. Even more if you eat them uncooked (spinach greens/broccoli).
Multivitamins and reduced cancer risk
Selenium and Vitamin E do not reduce prostate cancer risk
Research shows over-abundance of beta-carotene can increase lung cancer rates
Similarly overuse of Folic acid supplements
I'll stop spamming now, just go eat vegetables and stop wasting your money on douchey vitamins you piss out anyway.
I just paid $10.50 for 250 Swisse vitamin D3 tablets from Woolies. I looked into Chemistwarehouse and the cheapest I could find was 250 for $19.
Happy to be directed to cheaper prices though.
That's the cheapest I've seen D3 other that Costco, who have/had it for $8.90 for x250 (only really worth it if you are already a member).
Yay. At least i can rack up qantas and everyday rewards pts and fuel voucher!
What you mean is that 95% of Australians have no medical need for vitamins, but take them because of seductive marketing and misinformation. Expensive placebos at 50% off - yeh!
<Bracing for negative votes…>
50% off half price?
Just say 75% off, less confusing.
Had to fill up the title somehow. Title was originally too short LOL.
Bugger :-)
Very effective vitamins? No, wait! That's not right… Very effective labeling. Nicole Kidman Joins The Checkout + Dodgy Swisse Labelling (ABC Television)
haha still in damage control after the Checkout exposé. Make sure you don't buy the Ultiboost Appetite Suppressant if you plan on buying any.
fyi prices - http://www2.woolworthsonline.com.au/#url=/Shop/SearchProduct… :)
Thanks, updated main link to this instead of picture.
Can't believe so many people buy this rubbish
Do you buy organic food?
Many people do, despite there being very shaky evidence it has any benefit over traditional methods of production.
Logic and facts do not often interfere with what people think is right.
I'll prepare myself for an onslaught of slander because I mentioned organics.
Not 50% off entire range…
Multivitamins and ultivite range are only 25% off
Yep which is exactly what I need. Might get this https://www.colesonline.com.au/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Pro… instead as I asked a pharmacist whats the diff between all the multivitamins and she said they are basically all the same except that some might clash with certain other medications. i bought some from CW last week at about $13, so this is a good price.
So many labels and colours…
Thanks.
