  • Not bad for simple media player or something. Battery is really weak though

  • -1

well its better than ipad 1 at least =]

    • +1

Is it? Lower res, app support.. build quality.. battery.. screen quality… hmm.. not coming up with much yet.

      • +2

        are you the new jv?

        • is one of those up-votes from jv?

      • I think they were implying that because its not designed by Apple then that's a plus. Ergo, a cracker gets a plus.

      • +1

To be truthful, if you have a ipad 1 you will be on 4.3 for speed, which means most modern apps wont work.

  • A13=single core=slow=yuk! But for simple tasks like e reader it's cheap

  • I had one with this chip (different brand). It was too slow/laggy for web browsing.

  • Weren't these like $35-40 during the DX sale last month?

    • +1

      did anyone actually receive one?

      • +2

I think the real question is - did anyone actually buy one?

        • haha

        • well they were all sold out I believe so some poor sod ended up with them :D

        • poor sod (pointing to self)

Don't know if its the single core or the 512MB ram, but the bloody thing is slow as!!

Loading up FB, i have to press the Wait button on the application not responding warning three times before its usable.

Works fine without any background services. So no email, FB other apps that start services. A good media player though. Works fine streaming movies from the NAS, even the FHD ones!!. Sucks up the battery though.

This or a Nexus 7….such a hard decision to make…

    • let's assume you can get nexus 7 16gb at say 3 times the price
      Quad Core vs Single core
4 times battery capacity (not necessarily life as bigger screen and faster cpu will draw more)
      2.5 time number of pixels
      4 times storage
      twice ram
      NFC, Bluetooth, GPS
assuming you bought local, local warranty
latest android OS and future updates likely for a couple years

This tablet has sdcard slot though which could be good if you have a heap of sdcards with movies/music you can swap in and out.

      Interesting it says
      HDMI Port N/A
      but at same time
HDMI Supports 1080P HD video playback

      • Forget similarity of specs….these cheap tablets are AWFUL to use.

      • Never buy a cheap single core tablet like this one. You will end up throwing it against the wall in frustration.

For $15 more, would this be a much better buy?

    • +2

      Ainol is always better.

      • Especially when you're paying for it so that after you've finished you can spit on it and throw it away.

    • That's pretty cheap but does that include shipping?

      • That's pretty cheap but does that include shipping?

No extra charge for shipping, but then they probably don't spend anything on shipping either.

Paypal payments go to a hotmail address.

    • This site is relatively new… not sure if its legit considering alibaba selling these for a higher price around $90 even at wholesale >20 unit prices

      • that is cheap.

actually that whole site is hugely cheap. hmmmmmm

      • Looks suspect, found a Cube2 10inch (rk3188) for $159 and was VERY interested but researching and there isnt much about smallboxmall.net . Avoid is the advice on whirlpool http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2109381

        • took the plunge and ordered a small "kree" torch $3. I'll see if it arrives. 40 something days to file a paypal dispute.

        • opened up paypal dispute a week ago as have not received torch.

          smallboxmall.net site is now down.
