Sennheiser HD 429 $69 @Officeworks

110

Think this will be my 3rd headphone purchase in 1 week. Any how, looking for a gift my 18yo cousin. Looks good from the reviews as far as i can tell. Preferred the one with remote but would have doubled the price. Special order to officeworks store.

  • good price, but the brand name should be Sennheiser :)

I'd say you 18 year old cousin is unlikely to be an audiophile so go for it.

    • Any suggestion for less then $100?

      • JVC S500

        http://www.head-fi.org/t/621063/the-jvc-ha-s500-appreciation…

Get them for him in black, they look cooler than beats and sound about 100x better.

        • Can't find them locally what about these JVC HA M5X

          http://www.oo.com.au/JVC-HA-M5X-Xtreme-Xplosives-Ar_P134725C348.cfm?cm_sp=SubCatFilter--TestC--Product

Edit: never mind, just found a review very bassy. Might be good for him then.

        • Hmmm i'd probably go the Sen's over them to be honest. The JVC s500's are a much better option again (Carbon nanotube construction) but are import from japan only (ebay etc).

If he's not much of an audio buff anything that looks 'cool' should be fine.

  • I'd buy these but its annoying that they still use the exact same crappy padding material that's found in the HD201s despite being twice the RRP. The padding will wear away eventually even with minimum use

  • Tempted to get the HD439 for $15 more. http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Aud…

Anyone had experience with both or either?

Who honestly down votes this shit? We got some real donut people in this community.

    • JB is selling 439 for $89, not much higher than the OW. Interestingly they sell 429 for $99, more expensive than 439.

I would highly recommend the Panasonic RP-HTF600 as a similar price, but great sound for $$$. was <$43 recently, but @ <$55 on ebay, good bang/buck.

    • Where can I get this HTF600?
