NAB Customers Only - 6mths FREE TRIAL of McAfee Internet Security and Webroot SecureAnywhere

41

Saw this on their FB page: 6 months free trial of McAfee Internet Security and Webroot SecureAnywhere
Not sure on expiry date, so I just set it at end of June.
Might be useful if you're a NAB customer and you want to switch AV, or don't have one.

Be advised: you need to cancel before the 6 months is up or it will renew on its own.

  • 6 months when the bitdefender works for a year…… http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/103152 mmm…..

Not sure how effective Mcafee and Webroot is these days, but free stuff is free stuff.
Personally I tried bitdefender, didn't like the simplified (locked down) interface and that I can't disable the idle scan. I don't want my HDDs crunching away when I leave the PC for a bit.
Uninstalled the trial the same day, bought Kaspersky for cheap.

Why use two of the worse internet securities that only give you 6 months when you can still get Bitfender for free for 1 year?

    • Not everyone has westpac but I agree with you. Also there are many cashbacks available today for virus scanners.

      • I don't have westpac, the thread details that the main link dosen't require you to have a westpac account anyway…..
P.S Thanks for your post anyway OP

    • Webroot is definitely not the worst two internet securities you can get, it's one of the lightest security available. Try looking at some stats.

Also, it looks to me as if it is available to everyone, not just NAB customers.

Neither of them are in the top 10 internet security suites, Webroot is ranked 11th and McAfee is 15th. Bitdefender is ranked number 1. http://internet-security-suite-review.toptenreviews.com

        • Wow a random website, that's a reliable source.

Your neg is invalid dude, just because you don't like the software does not mean it's not a bargain.

        • I negged it because this one is only for 6 months, where as Bitdefender is for one year and is still available with better value.

Top Ten isn't a random website, its been a popular reviews website for years.

  • Oh nice, free bloatware.

  • Commonwealth Bank has the same offer, only for McAfee though.

  • Never installed this kind of things lol,
As long as you do not get to some wired website, performing this kind of scan at once a month is enough for me,
But good deal as they are free :D
