Verbatim DVD-R 50+10 pack for $18.95 @ Kmart

170

Just got the "mega entertainment sale" catalog in the mail today.

Sale starts Thursday, 5th of March.

This is a better price per Verbatim DVD-R than previous deals submitted here: ie. $16 for 50 pack.

Descripotion:

Verbatim DVD-R 50 + bonus 10 pack
16X speed DVD-R
4.7GB capacity per disc

Note: the bonus 10 DVDs come in a seperate cake box. Good for organising small batches of DVDs that belong together. Most cake boxes are able to be stacked on top of eachother which saves a lot of space. It is also easier to give/lend to people multiple DVDs with the small cake box.

  • Are they printable ones ?

    • My unopened 50 pack of printable Verbs clearly states it is printable. The picture in the catalog does not state it is so I assume it's the silver top ones. But I have used the silver top Verbs before and can confirm that they both have the same media ID (ie. MCC 03RG20).

EDIT: But seriously I'd like a show of hands who actually prints on their DVDs. It just seems so impractical and uneconomical unless you’re doing professional work.

      • I have been using Taiyo Yuden printable for 3 years, the result is very satisfactory.

Printing all the file lists, photos on the DVD using Acoustica CD Label Maker is very easy and professionally looking. The software is worth the price.

Also I have my printer install with CISS (Continuous Ink Supply System), color printing not be expansive at all.

For those reasons, I only buy printable DVDs now. IMHO, it is very practical.

      • printable gives you a smooth, large surface to write stuff on even if you don't print on it

  • Most of the newer printers have a cd printer built in , even the real cheapies . It's very practical IMHO .

  • Bought the same 50 + 10 bundle at KMart last week for $16.20 (price match).

    • May I know where do you price match this ?

      • It was $24.95 at KMart, I got them to match HN catalogue price $17. Minus 10% of the difference comes $16.20.

        • Wow, that's cheap! I never saw HN advertise the 50+10 pack. And on the kmart catalog it says "exclusive". Maybe you were lucky?

          • @fufufu: The bundle does have an exclusive to KMart sticker on it, and yes HN didn't have the 10 pack. However, the UPC code is the same with or without the 10 pack (it's just an add-on shrink wrapped together), so they let me to take the bundle.

            • @browser: Wow ok. So how would one go about doing this? Because if they (kmart) check for the price/availability, they'll certainly find out it's not the bundle pack?

            • @browser: Good on you. I don't think I can have your luck to get that deal.

But I hope everyone who wants that can get it at $16.20.

  • Been to 3 Kmart stores in Brizzy and none have stock left.

    • On sale from tomorrow (05/Mar), may be some stores didn't put it on shelf yet.

  • Even if kmart are out of the packs, they were when i went. They will give you the 50 pack plus a 10 pack which is a spindle in a box ($5 usually) for $18.95. They are both the silver tops so non-printable but good quality.

    • i went to the burwood kmart and they wouldn't do it for me… so i went to the parramatta one and had to open up a 10 pack, put it on top of the 50 pack and somehow bluff my way with the ppl at register be4 they would give it to me.
