yep, but nothing's stopping you from creating new account. The code however for free shipping works for all accounts, new or old.
Yeah but i'd need to change address for that
nope, you don't
Changing "Avenue" to "Ave" etc is one way around it I believe…
If you have a gmail address, just chuck an extra "." somewhere in your handle….gmail processes it all the same.
from past experience, the quality of the prints are terrible
We got 2 photo blocks done up last month and I wouldn't say the quality is terrible. 1 matte an 1 gloss finish for both my wife and Mum, and mentioned this to them, and we all thought that quality is definitely passable.
the photos i received were really dark and blurry. i probably wouldn't pay for them
Yeah, others had similar experience. Sounds like it's hit and miss.
I've been using snapfish for 2 years now with roughly 120 orders in that time and the only time images came out "dark" or "blurry" were the result of the person who uploaded the photo and captured the photo.
You really need to have your monitor calibrated, this would be one reason for images coming out darker than what they're on your PC.
well after i received my poor snapfish prints i went back to HN (where i usually get my photos done) and i used the exact same photos and they came out much better
My photo block was a photo very badly glued onto a cheap looking block. Lucky it was from the free promo put up on here a few months ago, I would've been furious had I paid money for it. It very quickly ended up in the bin.
Prints i've got have always been fine, not sure if your source was good enough, remember the resolution needs to be big and upload the full image not Fast upload.
I found images to be darker than the original, even after uploading to full and using High-Res images
That's the nature of prints I'm afraid. Your monitor might not be calibrated correctly so the images you see on your screen look brighter than they are.The printing place would have fully calibrated equipment (you'd hope!) so the logical conclusion is it's a problem up your end.
I'd recommend a "Spyder" to calibrate your monitor to correct colours/brightness.
i don't think it's my monitor. I printed the exact same photo at HN and the quality and brightness was much better.
Did you adjust levels at HN?
no i didn't do any editing
Interesting - what may have happened is Snapfish don't do any adjustments to photos - which suits me as a photographer - I want my photos exactly as I edited them in Lightroom/Photoshop.
Someone at HN may have seen your files, noticed they were too dark and lightened them for you.
So HN may suit you as it requires you to do less editing, whereas Snapfish caters to my needs more to display my work as intended.
I have never had a problem with a Big W prints if I'm honest - I am all over the deals for big prints when they come out:
My theory is they perform an auto-levels on the images (with some aggressive clipping). I've uploaded photos processed from Canon raws, and many look great as prints but others are dark/contrasty similar to what you've experienced.
Can't blame them for the quality prints, it all comes down to the person who uploaded them.
No matter where you take your prints it's just gonna have the same effect.
i took them to HN and the prints came out a lot better
Incorrect, DEvok.
Thanks - ordered!
