Boots for Men

Hey Guys !

So I've just worn out my Vans and would like to purchase new shoes and my mum said boots would be great for winter and now I'm fairly interested. Was wondering if anyone knows where(preferably in Sydney)I can find some. Also do you people think it is normal for guys to wear boots or is it odd?

Thanks

Most shops will have a selection of boots. Don't expect great quality though. Myers/DJ will have all the Julius Marlow, Windsor Smith etc. there is bound to be something you like. should be about $70-$80 if they are on sale.

Men wear boots all the time, they are great and alot better than Vans. If you want to spend $300-$400 then order some Red Wings or Wolverine 1000 mile online, beautiful boots.

    RM Williams?
    works with jeans or trousers.

    clarks desert boots also niec

at end of day depends on the pants u wear too.

boots not niec with adidas tracksuit / shorts

Blundstone boots. Cheap (at least the ones I wear are). Wear them with jeans. Last long. I prefer the steel-capped ones. Heaps of copycats also selling, which may be just as good or better.

Made In Vietnam, last I looked.

    • I have worn Blundstones everyday except summer weekends for the last decade, but the quality has fallen off dramatically and the price remains high. The move to off shore production has been a failure for the customers.
My next pair will not be Blundstones (looking at Baxter, Rossi and maybe RM WIlliams instead).

  • colorado boots. they last a long time and are very comfy

  • Anyone know anywhere to get reasonably priced Red Wings? I'd love a pair but they are $300-$400 and everywhere online I've seen them refuse to ship here.

    • Amazon / eBay are good bets. Should be able to get them between $200-$300. They really are worth the price. Quality and construction is fantastic.

If you are a size 11.5 D I may have a pair of Iron Rangers in Hawthorne if you're interested.

  • Dr. Martens have a good chelsea boot. Same reasonable quality and price as normal docs but in a different body, I'm a big fan.

As for where to look in Sydney, that I'm less sure of, if you're looking for RM Williams or Docs your best bet might actually be going second hand as they a substantially cheaper and are usually in pretty good nick, Broadway Betty (ignore the name, they sell men's stuff too) had some RM williams last I looked (sizes 8 and 9 I THINK), but I'm sure most 'hip' stores will as well.

    Happy booting.

  • RM Williams a while ago transferred their tanning to China I'm told. Which explains why my 2nd pair is so flaky, flaky chunks come off as the result of scratches. My older pair scratches from my abuse, but doesn't flake off.

    • I havn't had that problem and ive got 3 pairs bought over a period of 4 years.
but then again mine don't have many deep scratches and I use leather conditioner once in a while.

but yeh I've heard some part of the manufacturing has moved overseas (Turkey I heard?)

but then again, overseas doesn't always mean bad…??? Im sure most companies consider quality before moving offshore…

    • i haven't heard that nor had such problem - when did it happen?

i'd expect lvhm's recent investment to fix any such quality issues

in any case consider henry baxter boots

  • I invest in boots, you should too if you are serious. Made in USA like Dinners and Red wings are expensive but known to last up to 20 years. Casual and more basic boots like timberlands are easy to get anywhere. Aus doesn't really have a extreme winter to justify high end boots though

  • Thanks guys ! Went and bought a pair from Windsor Smith which I got for 30% off ! Took me a while to get out of them cos i didnt loosen the laces hahaha but im more than happy !

  • What style did you buy alt tab? 30% discount isn't on website— how did you get that?
