to be honest, anyone can get a free 3 day pass-

    1. they often give it to people who want to trial it for 3 days before signing up

    2. if you are a friend of a member, then also you can get 3 day passes.

gyms are a dodgy business, and they make good money. wonder what the new virgin gym will be like.

Also, I hear so many stories of people being pressured to join.
They tried to pressure me also but told them i'm not signing anything today. thought about, went to another Fitness First and signed up to a better deal, more on my terms.

  • I'm curious as to where they got the "$100 value" from for 3 days worth of gym membership… sounds like a blatant lie…

That and you have to buy 3 bottles of water in order to get the offer too?? No Thanks…

    • They most likely included "Join fees" in the avaluation of the deal to bump it up to $100

  • gobbo - "casual visitors" (ie non members) pay about $13 - $16 entry fee each time. so if $16 x 3 days x 2 ppl = $96. not really a blatant lie, but a blatant rip off lol.

    • Geeez that's madness :P

    • This is a rip off price. I can get a monthly gym card at only $60.

      • yea, i pay a little bit more than that monthly, cos the one I go to after work is different than the one I would go to from home.

but yea, FF makes mad money and no real competition. Let's see what Branson is gonna do. But he is marketing that company as one that doesnt tie you down to a contract. I think their prices might actually be higher than FF (if you want a longer term contract).

        • I heard someone got $60/month without contract at Virgin Active in Melbourne.

  • Virgin's Active Gym in Sydney is going to be in the middle of nowhere, at Frenchs Forest (Sydney outskirts).

    Pretty useless for most people.
