Audio Technica ATH-ANC9 Noise-Cancelling Headphones $235 (Free Express Delivery)

30

I've been looking for a high quality set of noise-cancelling cans for a while and these seem like a good deal, considering they are more than this on ebay. Not sure about the vendor though so happy to hear if anyone has used them. I also am looking at getting a FiiO E17 amp/DAC which is $139 delivered on the same site. Not sure on expiry, so I've set it to expire June 30. Cheers.

    • Aren't A2A Aussie stock?

There are dozens of terrible reviews about this merchant. I did see that, but chose not to deal with them due to the reviews.

I have purchased a pair of Audio Technica AD400's from Addicted to Audio. Their service is exceptional and yes they are trustworthy.

        • Thanks for that.

      • And where are these dozens of terrible reviews?

As someone who has been doing business with them for the past 6 months (have purchased in total - 3 amps, 3 dacs, 3 headphones all worth in excess of $10K), I can personally vouch for them being excellent to deal with both pre and post sales.

If you're in doubt, give them a ring for a chat or even better, visit them in person.

And yes, A2A does use licensed aussie stock AFAIK.

        • I think he's talking about EGlobal…

        • Exactly. I have bought audio equipment from A2A and they were great. It is eGloblaDigitalCameras I'm sus of.

  • The price on amazon is $245. Audio Technica has an excellent reputation.

    • I figured dealing with an Aussie merchant was preferable in case I need to use the warranty.

      • if u deal with amazon, no issue of warranty at all. i personally trust amazon over ANY aussie merchants. that being said, i bought a wa7 from a2a, they are good.

  • have you tried cans with passive isolation ?
I can barely hear anything when I wear the M50s without needing to turn the volume past 5.

    • No, I have several good quality ear canal phones, but I want some quality noise-cancelling phones also.

      • let me know how it goes, most of my audiophile friends say active noise isolation is a difficult to justify premium. Was told the best of them offer only slight improvements over passive and the bad ones actually perform worse than passive isolation.

  • Best headphones I have ever used, Picked mine up for just under $200 from eglobal.

So you would be happy to endorse them? I read such terrible reviews and being based in Hong Kong, who knows if they get stock from the manufacturer which did not pass quality control? Can I ask what the delivery charge was? My other concern was having to pay shipping back to them if the item is faulty.

      • +1

I did read some of the reviews, but I have found that the negatives are sometimes just a representation of a vocal minority.

Can't say much except that I got mine pretty quick and they don't seem to be fakes, other than that I only have my friends opinions to go off, and they were the ones who recommended them to me.

  • For those in Sydney…

I was able to get the AT kiosk in Westfield Sydney (Pitt st) to price match A2A for the anc7 a couple of months ago. Might be worth seeing if they can match this.

    • No more kiosk at Westfield. And they refused pm with amazon.

      • who are "they"? wat is the "AT kiosk"? never noticed them, never notice any kiosks in westfield.

I own a set of these headphones. They are just ok in my opinion def not worth the price tag. Try to hear a set before you buy if you are able to.
