Neg as sale isn't 50% off. It's actually 50% off the rrp

50% off the RRP is still a huge amount cheaper than the regular prices.
Best savings can be seen with the Healthy Care Range. The RRP of these vitamins are mostly the sale price in store so 50% off is acutally %50 off the usual going rate.
Eg. healthy care Vitamin d 1000 units 250 capsules - http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/product.asp?id=64071&pnam… (Was $19.99 yesterday in store)
      Healthy Care Krill Oil 500mg 100 capsules $22.49 http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/product.asp?id=66369&pnam… (was $44.99 yesterday)

There would be no vitamins today that are more expensive then in store yesterday with the 50% discount. Please link other stores with cheaper prices for the same product!

Haha. You sound like you work for Chemist Warehouse or are affiliated with them.

        Who buys "Healthy Care" anyway?

The vast majority of vitamins in store like Swisse, Blackmores etc. aren't sold at SRP or RRP so it's not a genuine 50% off sale.

It's more like an "up to 50% off" sale, with minor discounts on the well known vitamin brands.

Clearly this is not a bargain.

        • Healthy Care Olive Leaf is usually $16 on special which is the cheapest you can find for any brand by a fair margin, it's now $10 in this sale. It may not be a bargain for you but that doesn't mean it isn't for others.

        • Fair enough, if you buy that stuff then it's a good deal.

But it doesn't change the fact that it's not 50% off. (Usual price of the Healthy Care Olive Leave at Chemist Warehouse is $15.99. Sale price is $9.99. i.e 37% off)

Presumably the more well-known brands are a much less % off.

        • Usual price is $18.99 when not on sale, $15.99 is the standard price when on sale.

I agree with you about the terminology of "50% off" being misleading, maybe I'm used to CW's claims not being as true as they'd like you to believe ;)

I don't look at the brands, just strength compared to quantity and price :)

    • Brands not included that I can tell - Ostelin, Caltrate, elevit, Ferro, Cal-Sup, hairy lemon, Qsilica, Anthogenol, CAlcia and rescue remedy. (Not sure if I have missed any)

buyer beware. make sure you shop around first. eg. Cenovis Once Daily Mens Multi Vitamins & Minerals Capsules 125 - $10.65 (after their bs "50% off") at chemist warehouse, $9.34 at coles

also, be prepared to be treated like dirt if you ask them about their "WE BEAT EVERYONE'S PRICES" slogan (basically, they don't)

Don't fall for this crap. Seriously, us Aussies are overcharged for supplements and vitamins in general. Find a reputable brand in the US and source it from there. The savings are large - even with the 'sale' prices.

    • Where do you order from the US and what is the postage cost?

      • iHerb is pretty good apparently

      • I get my stuff from bodybuilding.com and vitacost. For some of the stuff I order, it can be ~$10 for the cheapest method of delivery. However, I don't usually go for this because it takes close to a month for delivery (probably due to customs clearance priorities). So, I order everything I need in one go and ship it express.

  • http://shop.mychemist.com.au/specials.asp seems to list all catalogue specials

note that sale ends 2nd june at my chemist but 30th may at chemist warehouse - though of course the latter will price match the former :)
