MEL/SYD/BRIS $1300 to London Return on Qantas

500

In a similar vein to the $410 return flights to Singapore, you can get return flights to London on Qantas for about $1300 using Expedia Brazil.

The $1300 flights are only in October & November but using expedia.com.br you can get flights in any period for about $600 cheaper than advertised on the Qantas website - http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airlines/international-fligh…

If you can't read Portugese (which I assume is most of us), make sure you're using Chrome which can translate the pages. Also when you're seeing the fares you will see £ instead of Brazilian Real but that is just the translator doing its thing and you will pay in Real.

Enjoy.

Perhaps we should have a look at what you've contributed.

      What's that? You've posted nothing?

  • I've never been able to find a Qantas flight riding the A380 syd-lax sept 20-29 (school hols) cheaper on .br than .au or .ie
Anyone up for the challenge - though guess Bugsy's not.

Yeh I agree. I didn't spot these cheap dates, but appreciate the fact that someone else did and posted it.
That is damn cheap for qantas.

If there's a sale advertised on the Qantas website, check the fares on expedia.com(.br or .ie ) and that's when you're likely to find the cheaper fares. Many fares from SYD/MEL/BNE to London were ~$1070 last Qantas sale. You could have at least linked to one of the earlier deals that explains the logistics of booking e.g. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/100517

    Eligible for QFF points/status credits?

    • +1

Qantas Points are not earned on all flights, but generally all retail fares will. Points for air travel may be earned only for paid travel on regular scheduled flights where a Qantas flight number (or the flight number of any oneworld Alliance Airline or Airline Partner) is entered on the Itinerary. Fare must be listed in Airline Earning Table: http://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/program/terms#jump25

The only thing is make sure of the FX rate. Impossible that a credit card company converts Real to Aussie $ at the prices you see when you check FX prices on the net.

When I booked, via Expedia Brazil a coupla months ago, I got stung. It cost me about 8 % to 10 % more than expected (was still a good deal, though)

You should have used a 28 Degrees card.

    • +2

Absolutely +1 the 28degree MasterCard- no foreign transaction fee, no foreign ATM fee (above what the machine is charging which is often zero if you search around), great transaction rates, 55 days interest free and no annual fee.

Another good card is the Citibank Plus debit card, similar features as above for accessing savings.

8-10%?? Did you get a loan from cash converters???

Thank you for posting this… I just booked the reverse (London to Brisbane return) for only $951 in September! What a bargain, especially with emirates/qantas. Even better was that I have a 28 degrees card, so no international fees!

Are qantas likely to honor this?

    • Yes, if it is booked in accordance with the fare rules.

  • Edit:
    Nevermind.

  • Hello all,
Looking at booking return flights for my gf to Paris 14th December (return 16th Jan). Looks like I can get flights return via Qantas/Airfrance via .br for around $1600 (roughly 800 less than qantas/AF flights on expedia AU). One thing I dont understand is, that for the exact same dates, both expedia websites come up with different routes (e.g. flying to Shanghai on .br versus singapore on au). As much as I try I can't get the same flight routes to come up on AU so I can have a good indication of savings. Does that make sense and if so anyone care to clarify?

Also, I know little about flight classes, when it says economy O (for the a330 leg) and R (for A380 leg) is that all okay (i.e. are they not just really rubbish seats)?

    Thanks for any help.
