Can someone please tell me who has the HTC 8X why you can't access the submenus when browsing OzBargain? For example when you click on "deals" you should get a drop down menu with the sub headings " new deals", "freebies", "popular deals" etc, ect. But when you select deals on the htc 8x it does not bring up the sub menu but goes directly to new deals.
Has anyone else experienced this with their phone and has anyone found a fix?
No you don't "click" on the tab, you hover your cursor over it, which means you just can't do it on your phone and it's not 8X's fault :P
Well it does that on my phone (Xperia sola) and all phones ive had before (all android) so the phone (or OS) may be to blame :)
same here, it works on my Sola. I can just hover my finger over 'deals' to open the drop down menu thanks to floating touch :)
That's a limitation of the browser on Win Mobile 8 phones. I can access the sub headings fine on my chrome in JB.
I don't know if this applies to WP8 as well, but in WP7.x, you can press and hold a particular item on a web browser to focus/hover your cursor/right-click over it. So for the mobile OzBargain site, just press and hold with your finger on one of the sub headings. It'll bring up a menu which you can tap out of and still "hover your cursor" over it.
same with my android phones. You need to access Ozbargain's mobile site.
No, it's a different issue. He is talking about the mobile site; the submenu just shows up for a split second and disappears on the 8X.
I can confirm the differences between WP8 and Android using my 8X and Note 2.

I can confirm that I have the same issue.
The 8X was a good introduction to WP8; I must say I prefer Android at the end of the day.

i placed a order of 299 htc 8x,now i wanna increase to 300.i order 2nd one but after choose free ship.on paymend method it shows Valid ID may be required for unverified paypal or credit card transactions, 3% surcharge for AMEX transaction, nothing more?

can wp8 sync with google mail and calendar? i have wp7 and that option is no longer available.
i have not found a work around yet
You can sync with gmail.
But not too sure about google calendar though.
Go:
Settings > email + accounts > + add an account > Choose "Google" and follow the onscreen instructions from there.
no issue with Gmail. Only with calendar and contact

So - "100% AU Stock"….does that mean they have the stock here in their warehouse….after sourcing from Hong Kong or similar (aka still grey import)?
Or is this AU stock via someone like Brightstar etc…ie manufactured for Australian distribution and delivered here dirextly ex Nokia Mfg plant?

A) Confirms (testified by) Nokia Australia support local OEM warranties on this handset and any warranty repair WILL NOT see the handset shipped overseas for genuine Nokia Care support?
B) That you source the handsets from a GENUINE Australian Nokia wholesale/logistics partner (like Bright…).
Not being rude - but I'm suspicious of your claims based on anecdotal info I have heard.

hmm, i think these phones are vodafone version, not the retail version. although they are unlocked. because they have preloaded with the 'my vodafone' app.
also, does any one know how to change phone language? it seems to be grey so cant change it.

Sorry, I was told by HTC its unbranded, I don't know they have preloaded with the"my vodafone" app, I have sent email to HTC to double confirm, if you not happy with it you can email [email protected] ask for return.
More importantly where will we be getting updates from? HTC or Vodafone? Updates through the carrier always take longer, and they may not continue with new updates even if HTC do.

An email I just got from them:
We have confirmed with HTC that this stock is unbranded stock, because if the phone is branded with vodafone then you would have seen vodafone welcome screen once you power up.
We accept the return as not happy with the product for replacement or refund.
We happy to provide you a full refund or replacement if the unit return in still in brand new condition with full sales packaging.
However we are not able to cover your return postage fee in this case.
Still doesn't answer why there is a Vodafone app on the phone and will our updates come through HTC or Vodafone?
I hope update will come via HTC. I will being using the phone overseas in a few month, and Vodafone update prob won't work there

only things is that we receive system update pushed by vodafone instead of htc/microsoft directly.
