My multifunction decided to crap itself and I need a scanner for my receipts etc. I was expecting flatbed scanners to be under $100 but a google search tells me otherwise :(
Can anyone recommend a good portable or flatbed scanner? or should I just get another multifunction? I really do not want to spend more than $100.

k - as an alternative to a flatbed, have you considered taking a photo of the receipts with your smartphone.

many companies are heading this way - mates who are sales reps photo their receipts and email the pic/pdf in to head office for processing.
I have been doing that but scanning documents with a smartphone is very difficult so I prefer a physical scanner. Thanks anyway!
I really dont think you will get one as cheap as a low end multifunction, most printers now have scanning, so a real cheapy will do the level of scanning you will need.
