DX is selling it at $65.30, cheaper than you.

    • Thanks for your reminding. for this, I will try to negotiate a bigger discount!

just wait for a few minutes.

  • It looks like an interesting idea for anyone still using faxes but claims like this;

"You can scan, edit, sign, stamp, and print any fax with this portable USB 2.0 digital fax machine"

Make me step back from it - clearly you would need a scanner and printer to do at least two of these things. Pretty sure this is a modem with some memory and software to drive it to send and decipher the fax images.

    • Interesting, scan and print are not in DX's description of the same product. Hey rep, I think you need to edit your product page also. :)

    • And who's going to have those without a computer connected. Buy a 56k modem for under $5 or give up on faxing and join the rest of us

my grandfather was talking about fax machines last night.

he was paged by a friend who needed a copy of the instruction manual for his VCR.

for the same money you can buy a inkjet all-in-one used as a printer, scanner, copier and pc fax! From local store with warranty. Why bother with this and it's reliability/support is unsure comparing to big brand.

    • Not that I'm in the least interested, I don't even have a phone line, but I suppose the portable aspect would be the reason. Really it's just a modem.

      • yeah, but the portable part is a bit mute considering most of the time fax numbers don't move with you.

Which raises the question why one would need even a stationary one in this day and age when you can use Internet fax services.

        • If you have 30 fax in and out a days, internet fax is quite expensive, or do you know who can do $1 day for over 30 fax a day?

        • What are you comparing internet fax to?
How do you send and receive 30 faxes a day for $1 a day?

        • I guess some might have unlimited local calls on their phone plan so sending fax can be relatively cheap.

        • Sure, but don't know where they could get a real phone line with unlimited local calls for under $1 a day. This is is why I asked. It's doable with VoIP for under $20, if you were happy to use someone like pennytel.

        • TPG internet $70 a month with unlimited local call and internet. and I remember Telstra and Optus has some plans with some free local calls or something like that as well. Don't ask me why would people bundle fax line with internet.

        • $70 a month is not $1 a day.

Doesn't matter, I just thought you must have known of a provider that offered a phone line with included calls for around $30 a month and I was curious who that was.

        • Assuming the unlimited internet part of the bundle to be worth $40, that leaves phone line with unlimited local calls to be about $30…

  • i remember i used to use the built in fax modem in my laptop to send and recieve faxes when i had my old laptop 3 years ago

Well businesses still rely a lot on faxes

  • Most networked MFC's allow remote fax
