  • merimobiles if you believe ozbb

  • Last time I ordered three items from DX, I received them after two months. The items weren't crucial (keyring torches, accessories) but in the back of my mind, I always wondered if they would ever come.

Things were packaged well though, good sized packaging, padding. Order tracking online did not show very much. I think it was still showing that the items were in Shanghai or HK when I received the items!

Cannot comment on customer service, I admit I was a bit slack in chasing them up for the items when they were still nowhere to be found after a month.

  • I bought a Cube U30GT from Buyincoins. Delivery time was acceptable and communication good. It has a stuck pixel. Doesn't bother me but obviously not ideal. Couldn't be bothered complaining/trying to get a new one. With Australia Post's extortionate prices you are basically screwed if something from China doesn't work- unless you have a better plan.

Thankfully that has rarely happened to me.

    • You would not be allowed by Auspost to send by airmail something containing lithium batteries anyway.

  • Agree with shaybisc

I've purchased 3 x ainol tabs (2 Fire + 1 Crystal)from buyincoins - no problems to date - free shipping usually takes 2 - 3 weeks to arrive. But don't buy them at all if you expect support you'd be better buying "local" and paying for the "support".

For the accessories for above - screen protectors, soft sleeves, stylus I used ainol-store each time without issue - again 2 - 3 weeks delivery.

Personally I was happier to take the risk and if they fail then that's why they are cheap and don't expect any support.

  • Aliexpress have some kind of escrow where they don't release the funds to the seller unless you are satisfied. Not sure how that works in practice. I guess you would still face the Australia Post hurdle.

Off topic but an interesting comparison- I got an electric shaver from Amazon and it was faulty. No questions asked they sent me a new one and it must have been by super-duper quick and expensive post because it arrived from the US in 2 days.

  • I bought 2 mobiles from Fastcardtech.
It advertised as having 2GB of RAM and an HD screen (720x1280).
When I received them, to my surprise…
    1. the included AnTuTu benchmark shows 2GB of RAM and 720x1280 resolution
    2. 3rd party benchmark shows 512MB RAM and 480x854 resolution

    • +1

That's why you should always read reviews and see what people actually say about the specifications — through a reliable source like XDA forums.

Do not trust the spec sheet and photos uploaded by the vendor.

    • Something wrong with your links - the resolution links just go back to the photos showing the RAM.

  • bought 2 Pipo M9 Tablets from http://www.aliexpress.com/store/100712
Arrived within 5 days via DHL. All in good condition, asked for free screen protector, they did give me.
good experience with the store. Payment will be released once we confirmed we got the goods & satisfied.
Had problem with AliExpress previously regarding ID confirmation. but now all good.

  • Buy in Coins has always been good to me.

    • Thanks folks. Keep the info coming if you can. I think it is good to have as many experiences of Chinese tablet suppliers as possible as we all tempted by the prices we see from them. Unfortunately it won't be a bargain if we have to pay expensive shipping back costs. I have also been reading tales of horror about shipping back and then getting nothing back in terms of replacements or refunds.

  • I was really hesitant to jump into the overseas suppliers as I usually buy here and I bought a Nexus 7 here from Officeworks which I've had no problem with. However there was a deal on Ozbargain recently and I bought the http://www.merimobiles.com/hyundai-t7s-exynos-4412-quad-coreā€¦

It took awhile to ship i.e. took roughly 10 days to even ship however they said this was due to software upgrading and I got a free screen protector thrown in for my wait. Really good service and I would definitely recommend them.

    • Totally agree with you words , but buy from overseas is cheaper.

  • I wouldn't buy anything expensive from Banggood.com. I had a terrible experience with them. Tablet arrived dead on arrival and I am now not sure whether I will get back my 220$. I have made a post about this here. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/102425
