  • I removed the question mark from the "free shipping" because the website explicitly states that it is free once it is in the cart. Good deal, BTW.

  • Damn that's cheap.

The arse is really falling out of these things now that they've announced the S4…

  • Wow Samsung phones really don't hold their value do they.

    • +7

Not just Samsung, I belive this happens with every phone other than iPhone.

This isn’t a bad thing. It’s one of the top reasons I like Android over Apple devices. And probably the main reason they are out selling Apple. Every year you can buy a new phone for $350 and it’s still a more capable device than the current $900 iPhone for most of the year.

      • +2

Or you can sell your old iPhone at a huge price and buy a new one for not much out of pocket.

Trying to make high depreciation a good thing is a bit of a stretch.

    • +1

well, android phones depreciate like golds lol.

  • 4G ?

    • +3

      4G Frequency N/A

      Computer says no!

    • +4

Buy two, then you'll have 6G.

  • "I don't know anything about techshopping.com.au but looks like a good deal if the site is trustworthy"
Ironically that the OP said this since it does look like a scam now. (though I didn't realise it till people said you can only pay by bank transfer.)

  • coming up as $399.

Does anybody know how soon they ship. going overseas in 2 weeks wanna buy one as gift.

    Thanks

    • The Note II is $399, you're possibly on the wrong page.

  • nice price on the prized phone

  • It says — Australian STOCK !!!!!! … Manufacturer's Warranty —- Damn … !!!!!

    WOW !!!!!

    EDIT:…
"Make your payment directly into our bank account. Please use your Order ID as the payment reference. Your order wont be shipped until the funds have cleared in our account."

"We accept online payment using direct debit.

Once payment is received, your order will be sent to our warehouse to be dispatched on the SAME DAY via Registered Post or Fastway couriers. All parcels will be fully insured, in the unlikely event that the parcel is missing in transit."

BUYERS BEWARE, HIGLY PROBABLE SCAM SITE.
Was reading a thread last night on whirlpool related to directdiscountwarehouse.com.au. You can find it here whirlpool. Towards the end of 2nd page people have come up with the conclusion that the original site was shutdown and techshopping is the new site put up to scam customers. These people use stolen ABN numbers to appear legit.
And remember there is no paypal or cc fraud protection with direct debit.

  • I think it's a scam. It looks like a very slightly modified version of this site http://web.archive.org/web/20130225012452/http://www.directd… , which was taking people's money. See here http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2067484

edit: above poster beat me to it!

    43 Beresford Ave
    Greenacre NSW 2190

That address seems to be a Bankstown City Council carpark, according to google maps! :o

    • Running the shop out of the back of a truck maybe?

      • LOL, the thought did cross my mind…but surely nothing dodgy happens in the Bankstown area does it? :)

        Nice carpark!!

      • +1

Haha, sounds like a white van scam

        • I'd be thinking more fully sik plasti-dipped WRX scam! :p

  • If the OP doesn't update this soon, maybe a MOD should highlight that this is a possible scam and for buyers to beware.

  • Scam

  • The ABN has a trading name of Inco Services. Nothing to do with this website. It is a scam, leave well alone.

The ABN cancelled their GST registration in 2011. This is not something a shop would do that has been running since 2004 (according to the dodgy website)

  • slick looking website… but Scam!

  • obvious scam is obvious. Not "possible".

As well as the dodgy payment method and fake ABN, the domain is brand new:

    Domain Name: techshopping.com.au
    Last Modified: 06-Apr-2013 07:28:01 UTC
    Registrar ID: Crazy Domains

Scam. Any online retailer who does not accept credit card / Paypal and only takes direct debit should not be trusted.

  • Neg Explosion!

  • The people responsible should be put away

  • Stay vigilant

  • This need to be change from possible scam to just scam.
Their ABN is unregistered belong to some G GERSBACH & M.A JEFFRESS who operate in Manildra not Greenace.
Their address is a car park, phone contact does not support sale and inquiry.
No CC or Pay Pal option.
Possible scam is a big understatement IMO.

  • not sure whether it's a scam, but I price matched it.

    • I feel sorry for Australian business that have to make loss to these kind of scam…
But hell we are on ozbargain

    • Sure you did.

  • Crazy Donains yet AGAIN.

    The scammers friend.

    They never do any checking.

  • OMG… this "possible" scam website is on google sponsored link now?… >.<

  • Hi, First post but I have more info on the scam.

Tech shopping exactly same site design as http://www.techdiscounts.com.au/ I just found out as I found this post.

I purchased a Galaxy Note 2 from them. The bank deposit sounded dodgy so I spent quite some time contacting them and checking their ABN was ok. They gave very plausible reasons for no Credit Card. They are very fast emailing replies. I never thought about someone stealing someone elses ABN! If I had of paid for the company details I guess I would have found out the 3 year trading company was not related.

They have spent a lot of time and effort.

Anyway I made the payment Monday and fortunately someone the banks caught up with them as the account was shut down and the bank returned my money automatically today along with the Transfer Return fee $2.50 which was fine if they saved me from fraud.

I also found the site on a google sponsored site.

Anyone else get caught with this company? Would be good to track down and punish these people but I suspect they don't even exist in Australia and those who went before me have lost all their money. I even rang Samsung direct and asked if the company was legitimate and they looked at the web site and said they should be and read the info on Warranty and said they would honour the warranty direct as Australian stock!

I went with them as I wanted Australian stock and also could claim back GST.

I see kogan are out of stock and have 2-3 weeks delay on the note plus about 5 days on top of that. Is that general or do they deliver earlier?

Also was trying to stay away from 4G as everything I read says uses batteries a lot and can't disable 4G without disabling 2G GSM. I have a Telstra Boost Sim. If that turns the 4G off automatically due to the sim and not use the extra power over the 4G models then I would buy them.

Any suggestions on Note 2 or S3 Australian stock or something that will come in less than 2 weeks? The only eBay phones significantly cheaper than new grey imports are broken screens so I figure new Grey import is still a better deal.
