Crazy, thanks got one. Will use it for streaming music prob, and maybe scheduled backups.

Ikr, their pricing makes no sense, I saw one with same config except 4gb ram, listed for 30 bucks more

      • +1

Maybe they're justing trying to dump and make warehouse space?
These 'more power hungry' CPUs are fine by me, I'll prob get solar soon. I can imagine them being a turn off for others though.

      • Probably depending on what stock they have. Get rid of the stuff they have more stock of.

  • Damn, 2 left when I clicked buy, all sold while it was processing payment :(

    • +1

Ah snapped up :/ Think it was at 20 sold when I got one

      • +1

Yeah, crazy good deal. My biggest problem was I had a space in the code when trying to copy and paste it, delayed me that 10 seconds in buying lol.

        Great bargain

    OOS already

  • Wow that was fast.

    • +3

Think it was a buy now think later situation for many.

      • +3

For me it was think first, don't buy.

Similar performance to the N95 Mini PCs which I've picked up from Amazon deals for $70-$100 depending on memory/storage configuration, but they all came with an SSD and have WiFi/Bluetooth + much lower power consumption.

        • I can't remember seeing them get that low. But glad you have something that suits your use case.

Personally it was a no brainer me because I like tinkering with these sff pc's and this was better value than the $70 elite desk g2 sffs that come up here fairly often.

        • I agree that this would have been pretty sweet, but sold out in less than 15min :/

@Dan24: This would have been a pricing error. Originally would have been $299 with a $100 coupon but then put on as a $199 lightning deal with no coupon code but there was some overlap.

    • heard that a lot?

    • +1

There were about 32 available at time of post. I saw deal about 25-30min after posting and think it already had about 345 clicks.

  • How is running w11

    • +2

This has native support without any registry edits I believe (8th gen and above)

      How is running w11

      It's installed on the HDD

Awesome find OP that was never going to last long

      It comes with warranty

    Nice!

  • Nice price, but the power usage on this would quickly eat into the savings

    • +1

These aren't too bad, I've got a HP equivalent machine running an i3-8100 and it sits at ~20w most of the time. Couple of SSDs and a 3.5" drive in it. Depends on how low youre looking to get

    • +1

Modern PCs barely use any power at idle - if it's not doing any hard work, then it won't use a noticeable amount of power.

Obviously if you're maxing the CPU for long periods then yes it's going to use a chunk of power.

Now to put a $1000 video card in it, for budget gaming

    • Already lining up my next rtx 3050 low profile post

      • Low profile cards are so expensive, that they don't make sense any more - you can buy an entire gaming PC, brand new, including a full size 4060, for $800 from the likes of Techfast and it'll be a bazillion times faster than this $52 machine with a $600 low profile video card installed.

        • You can get a low profile 3050 for about $290 delivered(pccasegear.com), which can run in the likes of these, it'll be nice when the a 3050 goes for $250… makes great pc if you just want entry 1080p performance or play older titles. The lp 4060 needs a 6 pin anyway so 3050 lp is where its at for these ones.

          • +1

@Dan24: $290 for the 3050 LP is actually not terrible - but by the time you've bought that, this PC, an SSD, and some RAM, you're now between $400 to $450 in total. And you've still got a 7 year old machine with a 3050 😁

            • @Nom: Yeah but your inner environmentalist can swell with pride as you have rescued e waste and made it something enjoyable as you watch the slide show Spiderman 2 gameplay on your "ray tracing capable" GPU. In all seriousness though. I wish a $400 ex lease PC build w/ LP GPU was my start to PC gaming as opposed to my amd a10 igpu on my Dell Inspiron uni laptop.

Also CeX sells really cheap ddr4 ram sticks which can be quickly tested using memtest and returned if faulty, if anyone else is reading, or cares.

          • +1

@Dan24: How would I know if an SFF PC can fit a low profile card ?

            • @lohpp: I look up teardown vids so that I know whether it needs to be single slot, or whether two slot is fine. 70w low profile cards aren't very long, so length is rarely an issue. Maybe it would if you tried a 4060 lp but you won't be powering that anyway. The other thing to keep in mind is the PSU, there is a 180w in these ones but other people have run 70w cards okay according to the forums I looked at.

              • +1

@Dan24: Awesome , thanks! Considering building an ultra budget gaming mini PC for 8yo who plays Roblox mostly 😆

                • +1

                  @lohpp: I put a new Radeon 7600 into an old 3rd gen (!!) Z77 system, complete with DDR3 memory (32GB) and a SATA SSD. I think the CPU is an i7 3770.

It's not a mini machine, it's in a normal tower case - but the only cost was the graphics card, the rest was lying around worthless.

It's got Win 11 24H2 installed, and a friend uses it to play Marvel Rivals and Fortnite - which it does amazingly well on his 1080p screen.

                  • @Nom: That actually looks like a decent cost graphics card that you put in there!

                • +1

@lohpp: You could also go with this, then just upgrade the GPU eventually to another 6 pin ~120w card. The kid would think it's sick as. $240 after coupon.

          • @Dan24: The specs confuse me. Recommended PSU is double what my box came with

            "Recommended Power Supply 450W
            Power Consumption 70W"

Same here. Stated issue with buyer's delivery address. :(

      • Yeah BS reason.

      • +1

Mine arrived, without the advertised disk drive and dusty af… Have asked them to post an ODD so I can fit it myself. I'm like 2.5 hours west of them though. I guess they must be looking at cancelling postage if it means they make an overall loss. Gave this mob a negative review after the dynabook they sent was faulty. They banned me from the ebay store until I said I would change the review. In their defence they let me return it, I just spent a lot of time faffing about, trying to charge, boot and troubleshoot the damn thing. Bottom line, seems this mob can be a bit hit and miss.

        • +1

          How disappointing.

Looks like I’m not alone. Mine came today and genuinely looked like it hadn’t even been opened up in decades—covered thick in dust, weird debris coming out. Genuinely very filthy and disgusting to touch…

So much for the “Refurbished—very good” condition, which means it should have been properly cleaned.

Past Ozbargainers seem to also share complaints about these guys.

At least my unit came with everything… and enough dust to give a man asthma. Low bar to clear anyway lol?

          • +1

@KingJesusThe69th: If you really lucked out you also might have an NVME plastic bracket so you can fit the drives. Otherwise you might have to go the 3d printed route, or Ali Express. Something I didn't account for…
