    • Same, btw if you come across any Bargain later plz share.

BTW…what are your criteria for fridge?

  • +6

agree, no fridge, no washing machine.

    • Agreed. But if it was available, it would evidently be higher cost than before promotion.

      Slimey behaviour.

  • Missed the Kindle paperwhite the last deal a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully they'll list it again for this deal

Result, been waiting for the GG to fix their code all day :) - Bought this Whirlpool Oven
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/123202603730
    For $390.14 (inc $54.94 delivery)

Same product $789 at Appliances Online
    https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/whirlpool-60cm-e…

    • And they say "Best price guarantee"

      • Was confused by your statement initially, then realised you mean appliances online when you say "they"

    • Came here to say this… I thought I was going insane trying to find what the $300+ difference was between TGG and AppliancesOnline!!

Also, in true OzBargain style I got the price down to $335 by doing click and collect… less than half the AO price!

      • Yea i looked for a good few mins. I was half dreading someone saying 'you bought the Value version from GG rather than the deluxe version at AO'

        • Motherfkers… now it’s down to $209!!

Need a new microwave, any recommendations?

      $50 from kmart

      • +1

That's OK for a uni student but we are a family of 6 so need something half decent.

        • +37

          2 x $50 kmart microwaves?

          $100

        • +2

Just want to say that I bought a $50 Kmart microwave when I was a uni student, and I still have it now as a home owner. My parents & brother all bought expensive high end brand named microwaves that have failed quickly. My cheapo Kmart one is still going.

I was definitely jealous of some of the cool features the others had, but hey.. mine heats food and that's all I REALLY need.

          • @Seltox: I bought a similar one from LIDL/ALDI, and the following is correct & factual…
It couldn't do microwave popcorn!! Slowly, eventually, burned everything. Paper-included.

    • Just a conventional microwave? We've been using a Samsung one for the past ~12 years and never had any issues with it.

      • -8

You should replace microwaves between 5-10 years depending on manufacturer and usage

They leak over time and can be bad for you especially if your usually around it when it's in use;which in my house, is always

        • +2

Yep before my old oven packed it in I regularly had to mop up the leaked microwaves after use. Had to use special OH&S approved equipment: https://www.beyondcontext.com/page-3/styled-89/files/pasted-…

          • -3

@[Deactivated]: They leak Gamma which is harmful and a type of radiation. Take of that what you will.

Not everyone will replace a microwave every 10 years like most should but keep in mind they loose efficiency, requiring more 'ON' time, produce excess Gamma and louder.

Cute pic. You look cute dorky in a dweeb kind of way

            • +6

@Suspect420: gamma radiation is produced by radioactive decay
gamma radiation is in the wavelengths 10^-11 meters and smaller (ie bigger negative exponent)

microwaves are in the wavelengths 10^-1 to 10^-4 meters. (ie 1mm to 1m)
microwave ovens use Super High Frequency (SHF) microwaves in the 10cm to 1cm range.
this is why the 1mm spaced faraday cage wires in the door stops them.

microwave overs do not "leak Gamma". microwaves have nothing to do with gamma radiation.

visible light is closer to gamma radiation than microwaves are.

              • @Antikythera: Thanks Antikythera for the reply. I have been told never to keep food like fruit near or around (ie. On top) microwaves.

I have a friend I went to university with, a leading Sydney Radiologist who has advised the above based on his understanding. As an electrical engineer I understand what a Faraday cage does, and can assure you that any 1mm wire will corrode especially with EMF or a variable voltage

I'll admit I don't understand radiation or gamma well but know there is a reason that manufacturers recommend replacing microwaves after a certain period of time

                • @Suspect420: What, pray tell, does your radiologist / scientician friend believe happens to fruit if it sits on top or near a microwave?

                  • +1

                    @Pantagonist: Scientologist?

It's possible that microwaved-via-leakage fruit can help save money/energy over time. If you wait long enough it may eventually glow in the dark, thereby saving on light bills.

My wife regularly microwaves apples (sliced) to make a compote and I must admit she's been glowing recently.

            • @Suspect420: As explained by antikythera, microwaves don't use gamma radiation. Here's some basic reading on various ionising and non-ionising radiation forms, with a few comments on microwave oven "dangers". Your friend was either badly misinformed or was taking the pizz.

              https://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancer-causes/radiation-exposu…

If microwaves concern you then you should never venture outside unless surrounded by a faraday cage or some other blocking mechanism, eg https://images.vice.com/motherboard/content-images/article/1….

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: It's tricky to mop up waves, they just keep crashing onto the radioactive beach.

  • Looks like Galaxy s10 series has been removed from their store. Convenient.

  • Any recommendations for a toaster and a blender? Thanks.

  • Bah, no gas heaters

    • Why heat gas?

      • For ambience and 'cause the cats love it. We have a reverse cycle aircon for us but we have two gas vents that are currently doing nothing. Would be good to have a nice flame effect gas heater there.

        • I get down voted for liking gas heaters?

          Someone must really hate gas

  • was looking at canon m50 … yesterday 799… today 949…. suck a jack

Title should changed to 20% off selected items at The Good Guys eBay.

No TVs,no dryers,no washing machines,no fridges,no dishwashers and so on.

Only a few handful of items are okay to purchase(a mouse.a smart speaker or a microwave oven for example).Over 95% of items are either close to rrp or cheaper elsewhere even with after 20% off.

The good guys are only good at removing items and price jacked.

    • +4

If OzB is a true independent community & driving force, I wish it placed a rolling ban in regards to this price-jacking BS. And stopped being merely free advertising for their spam.

Like: If a deal has wide-spread price-jacking, the seller get 2 weeks in the sin bin. 'Deals' can't be listed, they can't be supported/promoted.

  • Ring Doorbell 2 unfortunately comes to $264 after the discount. Was kinda hoping I'd be able to get it around $210 to $220!

  • Just read above and realised that many items are not eligible or prices have been jacked. I recall there was some noise a while ago that was regulating this sort of behaviour. Anyone know the latest on this?

  • Damn! Bought a Fujitsu 8.5kW air conditioner from TGG on Saturday for $2070 so that I could get the $200 visa card (promo ends today), so $1870 final price. They had the best price I could find. If I'd waited until today and this deal, I'd get it for $1800.

    I hate losing out.

    • You will always lose out if it's deals you are after

    • +1

Same, I bought a Fujitsu 5.0kw today in case missing the promo. But hate to do return and buy another thing…

  • Is there a way to go back in time to check this price?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-JBL-3690650-3-1ch-450W-4K-Ul…

I am so convinced this BL 3690650 3.1ch has been massively jacked, but didn't take a screenshot.

    • $559 a few weeks ago. Brought it down to $447 after discount during their last eBay 20% off sale. Pretty sure Harvey Norman had them for around $450 over the weekend. Not sure if still available at that price.

  • They actually had the Motorola Moto G7 Plus for about $360 at the start of this deal, which is very cheap, but then bumped the price up to $400 yesterday evening.

    • TGG didn't bumped the price up to $400 yesterday evening. I've been watching the price for over 24 hours, waiting to buy.

$360 wasn't the price at start using code:
      Motorola Moto G7 Plus 64GB $399.20, Motorola Moto G7 64GB $319.20 + Delivery (Free C&C) @ The Good Guys eBay (Unobtainable deal)
That Deal was posted 24 hours ago, before code was even working.

Rather, TGG DROPPED PRICE $50 this morning - before you were posting about price increase!!

Motorola Moto G7 Plus $359.20 after code, making it $40 cheaper than at the start of this deal!

I'm off to pick mine up📱

      • Sorry, I assumed it was that price when the deal first started, but it looks like it just temporarily dropped in the afternoon. It was definitely $360 yesterday afternoon when I checked and then went up to $400 in the evening.

Good to hear it's dropped again, enjoy the new phone! I was pretty tempted to get it too!

        • Now at lowest price on OzBargain🎉
          That's all that matters😉

Placed in cart 24 hours ago, before code was working. If code was working, price would have been $399.20.

Would have received notification if price fell - didn't.
Checked a few times last night, price was same.

This morning, received ebay notification of $50 price reduction & bought.

          • @INFIDEL: Oh ok, maybe it was targeted? eBay had a "-$50" deduction on the store listing just under the normal price, in addition to showing the 20% discounta bit further down. When I clicked the 20% code then it calculated the total at $359.20, but I didn't try putting it in my cart to confirm.

            • @Sam401928374019: Checked my emails - had an unread one about incomplete ebay purchase. Mustn't have updated ebay price when checked last night😱

              TGG dropped price last night!

Received the update of $50 price decrease @17:55, bringing price with code to $359.20. I didn't notice the reduction until app sent notification this morning.

Had a crack at 2 products . The Mobile phone could not compete . GPS ended up cheapest on comparison . So I'll stay in that topic .

  • Heaps of Fridges and Whitegoods have just been listed this afternoon :)

  • If you buy it online and take it back to a store for a refund .you will get credit note for the full price, not the discounted price paid

  • not letting me use the code for the bosch dryer either
