No minimum spend, that's what I like to hear!

    • On the contrary maximum discount $100 is a letdown.
Discount benifit maxed out at $666.

      • USD so it's pretty good

      • Sounds devilishly good!

    • Feels all excited and realised purchased all that needed during ebay Aussie sales…now… what’s left behind? 😥

      • Buy ahead for any upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

  • Awesome, no min spend

  • +1

These are the sorts of ebay codes that actually deserve front page.

Emphasis: Coupon is only valid when you buy within the latest version of the eBay Mobile App on iOS or Android.

We'll have to see if that requires a work-around for Australians. First try should be to go into settings and change region to US.

    • +1

Past deals have required a US registered account rather than changing region. Best to have a US registered one ready to go

  • gst on top?

    • +3

Only if purchasing items that are held outside of Australia

      • +3

To elaborate, you can use this to buy items within Australia as usual.

    • +2

regardless of this deal, if you buy from an overseas seller it's always the case.

      • +3

Gearbest don't appear to be charging gst anymore.

        • +7

I wish more foreign businesses would ignore the Australian Government attempting to have them pay tax because the GST is an unfair tax to start with.

Every single Australian who buys anything, so that's homeless people and you, pays tax at a higher rate than Qantas who pays no tax at all despite taking more than one billion dollars in profits year after year.

And Australians voted for the GST.

          • +1

@Diji1: To be fair, ignoring any gov is hard for a company to do. Once societies get used to not following the rule of law, rather than changing unjust laws, it opens a Pandora's box and usually results in the downfall of the society. In other words, we Aussies, should be active trying to change our unjust laws - not rely on a foreign entity to ignore our laws.

And Australians voted for the GST

And as a microcommunuity, professional shoppers with above-average shopping knowledge, we know full well about Gerry Harvey and gang and their involvement, yet we still upvote, promote and support Harvey Norman and gang every time they have a half-ass special. Perhaps we deserve what we get… sigh…

          • +1

            @Diji1:

GST is an unfair tax to start with.

Gst is a much better way of collecting vat than what Australians had to deal with before it was introduced by the Howard government. Many businesses back then had little to no knowledge of what was taxable or how much vat they were supposed to charge for widgets.

        • I was referring to ebay overseas sellers

      • +2

Not if you ship to a freight forwarder like Planet Express. Have avoided the GST on a number of purchases this way (and their on-shipping fees to Australia are pretty reasonable and quite fast).

        • Wouldn't you be charged GST when the parcel is on the way in? Or there was no value declaration?

          • @[Deactivated]: Only if it's over $1000, just like how it was previously.

  • +1

Can we use the yesterday's 5% discounted eBay gift cards?

    • +3

I don’t think so, they’re only valid on eBay Australia.
No harm in trying tomorrow though.

    • Terms also says you can't use gift cards.

      • Lol, buying gift cards on discount and then being unable to use them on discounted purchases - sounds just like the capitalistic world of today.

  • +2

Only eBay users registered on ebay.com, ebay.ca and cafr.ebay.ca, with an address located in the United States, Canada, Latin America or the Caribbean are eligible for the Coupon.

So are we still able to ship to an AU address at checkout?

    • +1

The last deal had the same terms and it seemed to work fine, I think that only means having a registered address within the U.S, but can have an AU delivery address

      • Ah, thought so. Thanks for clarifying 👍

  • +10

Shouldn't this be posted on YankBargain?

    • Maybe, but it’s also relevant to us.

      • +2

Maybe, but it’s also relevant to US.

        Yes that's my point.

      • -2

        whoosh
went right over the head didn't it

  • +3

    That's 12am tonight until 12pm tomorrow (22nd) AEDT

    • Those are the hours i put in however i'm not sure if i done it correctly :)

    • put this info to top please

  • +2

    I’ve never tried this before.

If I’m wanting to buy something local, can I use this code through an eBay account relocated to the US. Then use my aus address on checkout. Would you be paying in USD or AUD?

  • +1

Is the US app the same one as AU app?

    • +1

yes, the app is the same

Here are the instructions on how to update the app to a different country.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/help/account/changing-account-settin…

  • What deal did eBay US have for black friday last year? Worth waiting for it?

  • How about adding items in the cart using Web app and then order it using the mobile app?
As small screens are not that convenient :/

  • Normally through the website we can delete .au …to get this. But given that we need to use Ebay app….anyone please have some detail instruction?

  • +1

Even if I buy items with USD, don't you have to pay the exchange fee which might be a deal breaker?

    • Good question! anybody?

    • +3

It depends on your payment method. If use paypal to convert your AUD to USD then an premium exchange rate will be used, but if you select for your CC to do the conversion then there might not be any fees. For example, if you have a 28 Degrees card no exchange fee will be applied.

Note: if you are buying items from Australian seller, you will be buying in AUD not USD.

    • eBay converts it beforehand

    • +1

As per the previous time, what people were doing was using the U.S ebay account but purchasing from Australian vendors which in turn charge AUD so there is no exchange fee.

This is to take advantage of the 15% off which is only valid on a U.S ebay account.

  • +1

Is it easier to create a new account from eBay.com?
Also, do you need verification before purchase?

  • when will be 20% off site wide in au ebay?

  • Can we buy Ebay gift cards?

    • +1

      Have to try my friend

      • +1

        Will certainly do. Thanks friend

        • Do update us with your result :)

          • @iori57: Unless I am not the first one to try and update to OZBs, for sure :)

    • -4

Even if you get it honoured, eBay can reverse it if it goes against T&Cs and place the outstanding on your eBay account.

Anything over $150 AUD will be referred to debt collectors in your designated country.

  • Sweeeet!

I'm going to US on december. Time to download ebay App.

Too bad It will not be on Black Friday since Ebay US will have RDR 2 + Black Ops 4 for US $70

    • internet is available worldwide ;)

  • +1

    USD is good right now.

I'm wanting to buy a projector. Any recomendations?

    • I am also looking for JVC N5 or Sony 4K projector

      • better hope it's < A$920 bcos max discount is A$138

    • +1

You call 72cents good? It was 81cents in January..

So does our government slap tax on this to?

  • Finally getting this Samsung Galaxy S9 for 15% off.

    • +3

      Maximum $100 discount ; o )

    • Wow. That's how to price-jack.

  • Thanks OP!

  • -1

Please note, conversion fees are going to be hefty unless you have good conversion rates and cards

    • +3

      Paying aud or usd?
      If the seller is aud?

  • Could we put max USD $100 in the deal title? I know it's on me, but nearly just got caught out

    • My apologies i've updated it now :)

  • Do you reckon eBay AU will do something just as good? Love the US deal, but I don't think I can use my discounted eBay vouchers - and I would love to stack

    • +2

They ran a 10% deal few days back. Might run a 15% for few hours on Black Friday. If it is the same max $100 deal, then maximum value you can buy anything for will be $667. So, when you stack those 5% gift cards, you will get a $667 item for $539: that is $128.

    • I have credits applied to my account, probably from refunds, that I can apply to purchases on eBay.com. Maybe try using your card on a 1c purchase, and the balance should then be locked to your account and selectable when in your USA cart

    • I haven't seen 15% off in a long time from AU.

Leading up to Amazon launch, ebay promoted pretty hard. But when Amazon didn't set the world on fire, ebay stuck to the every now and then 10% off, and always on 20% off selected sellers, with the exception of one time 15% off ebay Plus items when that thing launched.

One thing I've noticed is a lot of Apple products get their listings pulled when 15% off was on.

  • Is this even possible to use without using shipping forwarding from USA to AUS?

    • yes from aus stores

      • T&C's for the promotion says you need to use a US address though…

        • +3

When you sign up, you use a US address, then set the postage address to your Australian one.

          They are two different options.

  • Inb4 all the cancelled ebay accounts.

  • Quick question. How do you search for Australian sellers on the eBay app?

    • +1

Use eBay website. Add to cart, then go to app.

  • +4

It’s funny how Oz eBay used to offer similer 15% and 20% sitewide deals like US eBay, but they just dried up over a year ago.

Was that just because of Oz Amazon or some other reason? Why did Oz eBay become so stingey?

Surely Oz eBay knows people are using the backdoor route to the US deals.

  • +2

Hey guys, sorry for asking but first time going through that process. So I need to change my country on the ebay app, then shop on Ebay.com (done automatically on the app since I changed country beforehand), then shop on ebay US? Or can I shop for items in Australia using the search mode and have it delivered in Australia? Thank you for everyone's patience.

  • Just registered us account, hopefully it will work.

    • Can't, they ask for address and US phone number

      • +1

        Google maps for an address.
You can choose Australia and use your own number for verify.

        • Thank you, went through that. Tried without using the code yet, I'm unable to add a foreign address when using Paypal, how can I get around it? Thank you

  • +1

Just created a US account and it was suspended lol? whats the steps here to get the discount? Am I able to use my current account?

  • Question. If the item is listed in ebay AU and the location claimed to be in Australia but turns out posting from overseas, do I still need to pay 10%GST? Will custom hold my item until I pay to release? Thanks.

    • i think this would charge you GST wherever you buy it?
