The 3 wise camels say this is the atl on Amazon. Averaging $75 elsewhere.

Cut from the original 1/4" master tapes, pressed on two glorious 180-gram LPs

It might be the smokey red records, not sure, bought anyway.

Looks like the 2022 reprint. Still bought. One of, if not, the best album from The White Stripes. These two really created something magical.

They would probably benefit more from vinyl than most modern stuff.
"The majority of the album was recorded across two weeks in April 2002 and produced without the use of computers, instead utilizing an eight-track tape machine and various gear no more recent than 1963"

      • Yes, all analogue and if I remember correctly from one of their dvd docos back in the day, Jack White took over or started a vinyl pressing plant.

        • Did you hear Steve Albini died this week? TBH I hadn’t heard of him but last week I learned that i love his work. He was a pretty great producer who also hated digital. He produced the Pixies album Surfer Rosa, which is awesome to listen to, even just on YouTube. Lots of instrument presence rather than vocals.

          Interesting write up here.

@GeneralSkunk: That’s a classic album. I was just watching a movie last week about the band Slint that Albini produced for then I read he died. https://youtu.be/GsRpS6XGiOs?feature=shared
I think Nirvana’s In Utero was my first introduction to him but who knows since he produced a tonne of great artists plus had his own bands.

@hornbill: Cool. Yeah I have been meaning to listen to some of the other stuff, because I love that uncompressed, raw sound, it’s such an antidote to most pop of the last 10 years.

    • OOS on Amazon AU, now showing the Amazon US price

  • Almost as expensive as the record player I bought yesterday from Auspost.

Hopefully you're joking & didn't buy that junk. It wasn't even on special.

Even if it was I still wouldn't buy it.

    • +1

It wouldn't be worth buying any vinyl to play on that thing.

Does this have that song that goes:

    Dun dundun-dun dun duuuun duuuun

    ?

    Thanks OP!

Jack White is an analog/vinyl fanatic. Their stuff really benefits on their vinyl releases. Bought it at $57, still a great buy!

He only got better after School of Rock.

  • Aren't most records around this price anyway? At least last time I looked at JB HIfi most new records were minimum $50-53 or more expensive. Not including the ones in the clearance bin.

  • How dare you post a vinyl deal over $50 rosebank!.

    Please note, sarcasm lol.

  • I prefer the Wiggles version is there a Vinyl of that?

    • +1

You're way off bro. They covered Tame Impala's song called Elephant haha.

      • +1

Oh lmao I remember Elephant =P

They will already have an amazing legacy, but can you imagine if they were around in the late 60s, played Woodstock etc? They would be immortalised as a legendary band.

The 20th Anniversary coloured vinyls look extra juicy.

If you have eBay Plus then $69.44 will do it ($12 more than the current price OP's post here (Not to take anything away from it, great deal anyway!))

    This guy has two left:

One of the reviews in the Amazon link mentions that it's the red vinyl, but it's probably not.

Thanks for the link, just bought it with my plus voucher. I don't mind having 2 pressings for this album.

Can always return with eBay Plus. At least one of the few benefits.

You're welcome. Always appreciate your good work @rosebank
