The Kia Seltos is a subcompact crossover SUV built by Kia Motors. Based on the Kia SP Signature concept car, its name is derived from "Celtos", the son of Hercules in Greek mythology. According to Kia, the Seltos is aimed directly at millennials and "youthful, tech-savvy buyers" looking for a vehicle that stands out from the crowd. The Seltos was unveiled in New Delhi, India on June 20, 2019.Sales will commence in India by late August 2019, with bookings to open in mid-July, and in Mexico in early 2020. The Seltos will be the first Kia vehicle in the Indian market. The car will be available in 16 variants. In addition, the Seltos was launched in South Korea on July 18, 2019, with a release in global markets by the end of the year. Assembly will be done in Gwangju, South Korea and Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh, India. The Seltos will be in direct competition with the Ford EcoSport, Mazda CX-3, Honda HR-V and Hyundai Kona.
