Went looking for cheapo AA batteries for some remotes and came across these long life batteries for $8, down from $16 They have an expiry date of 12-2030 Link to AAA Battery
Looks like the cheapest price for these batteries. Woolworths is currently selling these for $16. Pricematch with Officeworks will bring it down to $8.21 though in-store only.
