If you're in the bush and you use Telstra, then you need to get a "blue tick" approved mobile phone which has better coverage out in the sticks.

These phones are officially blue tick certified according to the Telstra forums

The Blackberry Z10 also has the Telstra blue tick, has the best reception out of any new release smartphone.

I'm in rural Vic and I have a HTC one through optus. I can get 1 bar now in places where I couldn't get any signal (previous had a nokia E7).

We've found Defy+ gets better reception than many other blue tick phones.
