Buying video camera for 3 weeks in South East Asia

Hello All,

Any suggestions for a good video camera would be great - I plan to use it a lot so ill probably need some storage, I'm thinking around 300 or whatever will do the job

  • Hi,
If you go to Malaysia; it's better to buy there, since there are no tax…cheaper compared in AU

    • +2

GST can be reclaimed at the aiport, and you'll have Australian warranty

  • many DSLRs also shoot video

    • Yes, and they do it very well (better than many dedicated video recorders). The problem is just that they suck to hold. From what it sounds like the OP wants to pretty much have this stuck to their hand all the time, and for that a DSLR sucks.

Also if you don't already have one $300 isn't going to cut it.

  • What about a GoPro? Are you going to be doing any stuff that that might be good for? In my last trip there we did a lot of scooter riding, bike riding, kayaking, tubing (Although that's no longer an option) etc that a GoPro would have been awesome for.

    • thanks never really thought about that, hopefully they have enough storage- ill check it out
