My laptop finally broke down so I spent this morning hunting for a new one. I missed out on the 15% off Macs at DSE recently which was bad timing, but this deal turned out just as good.

Currently if you join the David Jones mailing list you get a 10% off voucher for online purchases - originally posted here: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/95317. The voucher code ('WELCOME10') actually works if you are not on the list, but I signed up just to be safe and avoid any cancellations.

To make the deal sweeter, DJ are throwing in a new (3rd Gen, 1080p) Apple TV for Mac purchases over $1349. All models except Mac Mini's and 11" MacBook Airs fall above this price point.

I added the base Macbook Pro to the cart at $1349 and it automatically added the Apple TV. After that I applied the discount bringing the total to $1214 and the Apple TV was still there.

Completed checkout and received all confirmation. I guess there is a small risk the Apple TV is removed from the order, but only time will tell.

    I am getting this message when adding a Macbook over $1349.
    "Error:Sorry, we do not have sufficient inventory for TV MD199X/A. Please revise your selection."

    EDIT: Because of this error, you can't put a macbook in the cart. :)

    MacBook Air life cycle is near its end - new ones should be announced early June. Just as a heads up.

      Depends how desperately you want the Apple TV, I guess. There's always going to be 10-15% sales. It's awfully close to their midyear product announcement.

        Mac Mini doesn't qualify unfortunately (under the $1300 price), I'm debated because as you say the new refresh will come in Octoberish (6 months). I'm sure the i5 will just be refreshed but wondering whether they will finally opt for an actual graphics card or not

    DJ has plenty of Apple TV in stock… They just won't let you get 10% and a Apple TV… Good luck to people who were able to get an order through
