I wouldn't try it as our digestive system is based on acids and you don't want to neutralize that.
The body is self regulating - called homeostasis - that is why no amount of bicarb or antacid can change the stomach PH for more than a couple of minutes.
You are quite correct in saying that changing the homeostasis of some parts of our body is bad, but it is near impossible to do for the stomach by adding alkalis to it, without adding something strong enough to kill you anyway by burning out your mouth and esophagus. Some medications, Proton Pump Inhibitors do reduce the acidity somewhat by reducing the amount of acid produced.
Changing the homeostasis of the body and blood or the internal ph of our cells would kill you - which makes the claims of alkilinisers quite amusing - the proof they dont work at all in changing cell acidity or alkalinity is the people who take it are alive to write testamonials
