These things normally sell for $378? No wonder no one is buying them.

      • +8

Have fun with the shovelware games on your Tab. :)

      • +2

Lol, yeah totally the same thing. You should work for Sony.

    • +2

its a hidden link when you press the AD/Image banner: Linky

      • Well, that was unintuitive. This deal should probably link directly to that page instead of the email which doesn't explain how to even get it.

  • +1

show as full price? aahh..got it, I need to press the button link in the add.

  • +5

So tempted to get one, been keeping an eye on them since the price drop last time…but wtf am I gonna do with it? The recommended games are all RPG, which I'm not a fan of.
    For media/browsing I just use my phone/tablet.

…stupid awesome gadgets I have no use for :(

    • +1

The casual gamer is flocking to phones and Sony have lots of Vita to sell; this won't be the last deal of it's kind.

Even though I appreciate dedicated gaming machines and tactile controls far more than any phone, the casual gaming market cares less.

Add to that the overpriced Vita memory stick as another expense, and non-removable battery (unless you're fond of taking a screwdriver to your gear and sourcing a replacement battery online when the battery eventually needs replacing).

But I still +1 this deal, but I am pretty sure it's not the last of them.

    • Hi djyoshii,

PS vita have the potential use as Playstation 4's Gaming Pad control in the near future, it's a fair price 3G Tablet/Gaming Console/Gaming Control

      • -6

It sooo sucks as a gaming controller, buttons too small, awkward in the hand

        • +1

I don't really have that issue as it's fine to hold for me, but you can buy grips which make it shaped more like a regular controller and also extend the battery life.

  • +1

flashbacks of the COTD deal lol

  • +2

    got one!

  • +2

This has buy me written all over it!

Excellent news for Vita owners today in that we get a new FW update which includes the long awaited folders!

  • +3

Tempted, but I think 3G will be redundant since 4G models coming out and with mobile hotspot, not sure if I would use it. I'd rather Wi-Fi version for $169, then I will pounce on it :)

  • show more love to vita!

  • I think the revolution is coming from touch screen smartphones, this is more like a sinking ship

    • +3

      Revolution? No.

      Trend? Yes. Unfortunately.

  • So much temptation…

  • So can I play PS4 games on PSvita ?

    • +2

You'll still need a PS4, but during their PS4 conference in February Sony said that all PS4 games will be playable on the Vita via remote play(streaming over a network) using their Gaikai technology.

  • -4

I will wait for next-gen model which will be compatible with PS4.

    • +1

      ???
This is the model that will be compatible with the PS4.

      • -7

Sony will use Gaikai streaming technology for Cross-Platform game streaming & this model wont support that. This model will phase out in next 7 months when Sony will release PS4 along with next-gen PS Vita & Sony Tablet in November.

        • +3

Lol, sure buddy, whatever you say. If Sny did that they would go broke.

        • Not sure who put those ideas into your head devang153. But if you can find me a link to anything that confirms what you said feel free to post it.

        • +1

'Next-gen' implies improved system specs without compatibility for current Vitas, and that's not happening anytime soon — especially not by this November. I'm sure there will be a hardware revision, but I'd be surprised if it has any significant extra functionality apart from 4G support.

This deal is tempting, but I reckon I'll hold out for the inevitable Vita Slim. I probably would've bought a Vita by now if not for Sony's blatant price gouging on the memory.

    • Hi devang153,

This is the Gen that's compatible with PS4.

  • +2

Rather use the money for a ps4..

this is not good unless you can jailbreak it and put custom firmware, homebrew, emulators

PSP is still the best for homebrew and emulators.

    • Agree to that. Still using my psp-2000, though latest games are no go

    • The same exact reason why I still think PSP-1000 is still the best piece of gear Sony released. Original PSP rocks same as NDS

      • +4

Everyone screams the PSP was one of Sonys biggest failures, but I fail to see this. The Go was a piece of shit though.

  • +1

    Damn…just can't resist the temptation…ordered. Thanks OP.

  • Dammit someone buy my cotd one I bought on impulse lol

    • You In Sydney? :)

  • +1

Plus 1. I never thought I'd own a Vita, but I picked up the wifi version in the recent EB sale and it's worth every cent. You get A LOT of device for your money. Definately worth it if you are a PS plus member as you will probably never need to buy a game.

    • +1

Same. I love the Vita to bits but it is kind of lacking developer support. It gives off that similar impression of having a Blackberry mobile device that wishes to have all those apps that iOS has.

  • +1

Bought 2 (one for me, one for the brother), thank you! :)

  • Revolution like the American Revolution ? Hmm I think its more like Tiananmen Square with big white apple tanks driving over them.

  • +1

Can I just walk in to your store at westfield and buy instead?

    • +1

Yes, pick up is welcome. We open seven Days.

      • My order is paid but I haven't receive any order comfirmation email or pick up availabe email yet. Is my order available for pick up already? (Order no.:80060847) Thanks

        • +1

Hi bonus999, we will update you soon. Thanks,

        • +1

          hi bonus999,

It's all good to go, please come in and see our team to collect your order

        • +1

          Thanks David!

        • hi David,

can you also check my order for pickup.(order: 80060856)

        • Hi irobo,

It's also good to go. See you soon.

        • Np. Enjoy!

  • +1

thanks op! bought one, missed out on cotd offer.
if only a couple of days earlier would have bought persona 4 golden from play-asia as well.

does anyone know a good place to buy cheap memory cards.

  • Kind of tempted to get this for Soul Sacrifice but then there's nothing else i really want to play on this.

    • +1

Same here, there's not really anything i want to play on this. Homebrew would be good, but then it'd open it up to piracy again, so that's a double edged sword.
What else can you do on this besides gaming, if you don't plan on buying a PS4 (at least not at release anyway)? And from what I remember reading at release, 3G couldn't be used for multi-player or something like that, only for sharing files etc?
…I'll go read up on that again i s'pose. Guess I'm just looking for a reason to get one :)

  • +1

Couldn't resist. Let's see how it goes.

    • Vita is excellent. You're gonna be impressed.

  • It is showing out of stock.

My old vita + 3G was stolen out of my car along with my laptop, so can only afford sale versions as I've saved up only enough for a computer. Hopefully they will be on sale sometime soon. Will be sure to buy.

    I have $199 cash now but it's expired/out of stock :(

    Snooze you lose on OB.

    • No content insurance?

      • Nope. Considering my limited amount of assets I don't think it's worth it. :(

Plus if you claimed on something like a Vita and a laptop it could jeopardise the no claim bonus most insurers offer right?

        • If you have no claim bonus protection then you are fine with 1 claim per year without affscting your no claim bonus rating.

        • Also a laptop and a Vita don't come cheap.

        • Thanks guys for the replies, will look into getting it for future peace of mind.
