  • It's only a matter of time before your shipped price drops under $500, White Note 2.. Only a matter of time.

  • seems pointless comparing ex-shipping prices. why not compare delivered prices?

    • +1

Unique Mobiles offers standard or express shipping so i did the prices as ex-shipping because each individual's chosen shipping method will be circumstantial.
If comparing on standard shipping rates, then the difference is $40 (standard shipping from Unique Mobiles is $19 which is also Kogan's shipping fee)

EDIT: Have adjusted initial sentence of post comparing to Kogan to reflect difference in cost when using Standard Shipping

  • any code for note 2 lte ?

    • Just looks like the 3G version sadly…

shopping square did it for 430 delivered

    • Good point. Don't think Shopping Square has quite a stellar reputation though… I would prefer to buy from Unique Mobiles anyday

  • No deals on regular S3 anymore ??? I guess Kogan is still the cheapest for all things Samsung S3 - 3 weeks straight

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/97898

    • Using Standard Shipping here with this offer, the 4G version from Unique Mobiles would be $40 more than Kogan's price on the 3G version.

Personally, I see the value in paying the extra $40… Apart from the obvious advantage through the 4G capabilities, your also getting 2gb of RAM. Even if you're not in a 4G area, you're covering yourself for later.

Faster internet speed/Future-proofing and double the RAM for $40 is worthwhile in my book…

I managed to get a 3g for $425 from officeworks after a bit of a battle

    • +1

How did the battle go — Did you do a Dial-in price-match or in-store ?? $425 for Aus stock sounds great — Pls .. Do tell !!!

I agree with extra 1GB memory being good-to-have, but I still believe S3-i9300 is better because its worldwide 3G phone, which S34G is NOT.

    S3 i9300 - is Quad Band (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz) .. Worldwide 3G frequencies
    S3 i9305 - is Triband (850, 900, 2100 MHz)

Plus, 4G LTE coverage is also - specific to Australia and Sweden .. Most likely Grey import S3 4G phones are (GT-i9305N) .. Freq below.

    GT-i9305: 800, 1800, 2600 MHz
    GT-i9305N: 900, 1800, 2600 MHz

    Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_III

Depends on an individuals usage. For $379 - S3 from kogan is World Phone, and S34G - is Aus Phone with extra 1GB Ram.

I pricematched mobi city because I had an email from them saying the phones have manufactures warranty. They put on the shipping price then took 5% off.
I had my iPad with me in the shop and it took about half an hour.

  • Will they give me a tax invoice which I can claim for the GST refund If I am travelling oversea ? thanks.

    • You should read the description sometimes. It does say it's imported stock!

      • it is imported stock so it takes longer time for shipping, but it is a sales from oz company.
Does that mean the sales price does not have GST in?

        • +1

Not sure why you got negged, it's a valid question. UniqueMobiles is a .com.au site, which means they have to have an ABN or something similar, last time I checked. Cameras Direct do the same thing (GST + invoice) even though their stock is imported in the shade of grey.

        • Follow the link. It is more likely you get an invoice from unique mobiles ltd (hk) that is not an australian registered company so unlikely it is gst inclusive.

  • Dealboy - officeworks wanted to make sure it had manufactures warranty and the email I got from mobicity said it does.

    • Thanks Mitcheo ..

would you be able/willing to share the Officeworks store name/location

      Thanks

    • I just got this reply from MobiCity regarding warranty on their phones, pretty clear that it is imported stock, so not sure how you mangaged to convince Officeworks to price match. What was the wording of the email they sent you mitcheo?

      Hi there,
      Thank you for your email.
All of our phones are unlocked and most are sourced internationally to keep our prices as low as possible. We offer an Australian based warranty for 12 months. This warranty is serviced by our warranty partner, Australian Warranty Services. The warranty is a back to base warranty meaning you'll need to ship the phone either back to our shop in Brisbane or to our authorised repair centres. MobiCity offers a standard 12 month warranty on all phones which is equivalent to the manufacturer’s warranty in that it covers all repairs excluding physical damage and water damage. This means if it is deemed either of these the repair will be at a cost to the customer, however they will be notified before this happens and have the choice to continue or have the phone returned un-repaired.
      Kind regards,
      The MobiCity Helpdesk Team

Buyer Be aware, just wanna say, the customer service of Unique mobile is by far the worst among its peers, Kogan , Flingshot, even inferior to the "infamous" Shoppingsquare (which I found to be not too bad). So no matter how "good" the price may look like, think twice before buying!!

  • +1

Time to put the Shopper's Protection on my CC to use!

    • I thought that only protects you when purchasing from Australian shops? I'd double check the T&C's re: grey imports and warranty excess (which may be more than the phone itself).

  • any feedback on noworries.com.au

  • Im thinking maybe theyll be even cheaper when the S4 comes out on April 23, but not sure. Might wait til then and check out prices and see if I can get it cheaper or just get the S4 but thatll probly be mega expensive

I will be away from UM since last time, they sent me an opened box of note. I DON'T TRUST this company anymore personally.

Considering, the sudden death of galaxy phones last year, there were many faulty phones returned to Samsung, which perhaps transformed into refurbished grey import. It helps to explain the low price of these products. I assume.

  • Desperately want to know if there is a coupon code for the white S3 rather than the grey?

  • any code for note 2 lte?

    • I also need one for that :)

  • The Samsung Galaxy S3 4G (i9305) is $409 + $19 delivery = $428 total on Kogan, this is no longer cheaper than them.

    • yeah ok so kogan has changed that in the last few hrs… probably/maybe because of unique mobiles price. seems those two are just trying to one-up each other at the moment…

  • I DON'T TRUST UM anymore personally. They sold me an unsealed Samsung Phone, and insisted that it is a brand new one. But the phone is locked in some way, I could not even use Kies to update it. I have asked an expert to test the phone, and prepare to complain to ACCC if it is proved to be a problematic phone.

Will let you guys know the result.

    • Did Paypal ignore your dispute?

  • I won't buy from them as well if they cannot guarantee the box is factory sealed, too suspicious as the phone could be a refurbished one, and their explanation just too pale: staff randomly inspect handsets and open to place adapters inside the box.

Anyway, I would say good price but cheap for a reason
