Travel Agent Recommendation (Melbourne)

We are planning a trip to Europe in August. I have come accross a good deal online using a combination of Emirates/Etihad. I went to a travel agent here to try and match the deal.

24 hours later they came back to me and said they cannot book as the flight is leaving from Singapore not Melbourne.

The only reason we wanted to book with a travel agent is my partner is due to give birth to our first son in less than three weeks and we will need to change his details after he is born i.e. his DOB and possible his name. We thought having a travel agent may assist with this purpose rather than been on hold to airlines trying to change the name etc.

Can anyone recommend a travel agent in Melbourne. I am anxious to book as the flight will go up and I don't want to lose out!

    Yes they said they could not book the Singapore leg!

    Most only match flights that are leaving Australia so your a bit out of luck of the Singapore leg.

    Travel agents in Australia often don't get the contracted rates that you might find for Singapore departures online, so therefore it will be hard to find someone to match it.. If you want the backing of a travel agent then you might have to prepare for paying more

      I ended up booking independently as no travel agent could match the Singapore leg as mentioned.

      I will have to book for my son when he is born which will be 10% of the fair on that day. All up we have spend $3200 for myself and my partner. If we went Etihad from Melbourne to Europe on the given dates it's over $5k so massive saving :)
