Imported from where…..are these the ones made in Thailand, Phillipines or somewhere else in Asia?

just looking at the Heineken… if I include delivery to Qld at $15 and this is the same as paying $2.50 per 330 ml bottle (these are 250ml bottles though), or $60/standard carton. My local Dirty Dan's has them for $42.95/carton which equates to $1.79 per 330ml bottle. If I count delivery it's still only $2.08/bottle. For delivery of one carton this is not a deal.

If you can pick up it compares to $1.67 /330ml bottle, a slight saving over Dan's, however if you swipe your ING Direct card, Dan's is cheaper.

This works out to $39.58 per standard 24x330mL carton, with Heineken usually being about $42 on special. So it's a deal but not fantastic unless you're particularly attached to the small stubbies (or can't normally get the imported ones in your area). Plus you have to pay shipping.

  • Equates to over $40/case if they were normal sized bottles. Paying the same price for 250ml as a case of standard sized bottles? What's the bargain here?

    • I guess the deal is you get European water in your beer instead of Australian water, but for the same price. Some people swear that beer made from European water is much better.

Its all up to individual taste, but it does taste different. I prefer the imported.

        • I'd love to see a blind tasting of Australian made v. Imported. I wonder if someone's already done this?

        • The issue is when you buy a international product, no matter what it is, it should taste the same worldwide.

imported is much nicer, easy way to check is either get a mini keg and try it.

      • I can't stand local Heini, but in Europe I drink it like water. For me, there is a huge difference in taste.

If you are near a store the price is still $29.99 no additional fees. The customers who are not near a store and would like it delivered, will have to pay for delivery.

  • 250ml? that's only 1 swig & its gone…drank 275ml Heineken's in France, they're definitely not big enough for Aussie blokes…
